I've owned 2 BL and they both made/make this noise on startup. Just throwing in my 2 cents if it helps!

We’ve had our Badlands for close to a week. Has about 250 miles on it.

I have noticed that it does make some odd noises when starting and shutting off (from the outside).

I’m not even a little worried about it. It’s very smooth running.

I think it’s normal.

Thank you for starting this thread.
Mine sounds exactly the same and has since I bought it. I'm just glad I'm not the only one that was confused from the sound.

My plan is to just add an exhaust loud enough to drown it out. Does sound wimpy compared to how my last car started ?

Hello. Can anyone provide an opinion on what that whirring sound is that I hear seemingly coming from the rear brakes (or rear of car) when I depress the start button to start the ignition? The sound lasts at most for 3 to 4 seconds. I "suspect" that it has something to do with the braking system that kicks in, or releases on start-up. I don't know whether it is a new noise or one that I am aware of now that the weather is warm and my windows are open on start-up. Thank you for your input.

I have a 2023 & it does exactly the same thing!

Hi Bob! I can look into your Bronco's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Bronco's VIN?

i took my car into dealer last week to id this noise. they said it is from the RDU and normal. Other cars on the lot have it also. So that makes it true? What about Ford specs? i understand some cars don't have the noise. If so, which is "normal"? I may take it to my old service advisor at another dealer to see what he says. I trusted him for 10 years with my explorer.
