Now that there are enough people who have upgraded tires, these two sizes rise to the top for biggest tire you can fit with no mods. Would like to hear from people who have done it.

Lots have done the 245/65/17 and there is a wide array of tires in that size. The 235/70/17 is an uncommon size, but at least one user (Jrl) put that size on in a Wrangler Workhorse. It looks good and I'm sure he will tell you about the fitment and ride. As far as the 245/65/17, just go on any discussion in the tires section and you read about countless upgrades to that size.

Yes agreed I am confident with the 245/65/17. I want to see more evidence about 235/70/17.

I read in another forum that 70 will rub if you don’t have a lift…

235/70/17 Goodyear wrangler workhorse. Coming up on 4 months now and all good for me ,no rub great ride and gives my first edition a very nice stance , my opinion.I do not off road at all but I did drive it up some steps with no issues.

But didn’t you add a small lift on your car? If so I wouldn’t want to assume the will fit without they lift (on my badlands). Thanks for your help!

I believe your badlands has the same lift as my first edition ,it is a factory suspension lift that I think is 1 1/4 higher plus the added30 inch tires , check with your dealer about your badlands.

Ah okay I understand thanks and yes I’m certain the badlands and FE have the same suspension. So if it worked for you it should work for me.

One more question. - we’re you able to get this tire on your spare and does it fit in the back?

A friend has a outerbanks and he added a 2 inch lift to his and I had mine next to his and he was about a 1 1/4 lower than mine if that helps. I measured to the top of my crossbar and I get75.5 inch .

A lift does not really change what size tire you can run on the BS. The rub point is at the back bottom corner of the front wheel wells. You would have to lift a lot higher than is practical to eliminate that problem point.

Have not gone there yet. Thanks for the reminder . Be very careful when you get your tires the one I bought is exactly 30 inch , Goodyear wrangler workhorse. We tried a 30.6 on and it rubbed on felt liner on lock to lock. My tires look pretty good and I like the full wheel well look.

Can you see the difference it is very noticeable in person?
