Are kangaroos common in Nova Scotia? We were looking on the Polaris trail app and found this trail that our friend who lived there said āoh thatās a carriage roadā.
Over running the place! Are kangaroos common in Nova Scotia?
The wife and I have been there several times. Great place to hike.Took a trip down to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in SW Oklahoma. It's America's first bison refuge. Currently home to herds of free ranging bison, elk, Texas Longhorns and all the other critters that inhabitat a mixed-grass prairie. We counted 51 elk on this outing. Herds of bison were gathered in big fenced pastures so surplus animals can be given to Native American Tribes. An annual fall event.
The BL is parked next to the original entrance built in the the early 1900's. The highway was rerouted decades ago and the old gate is no longer visible. I prowled the Refuge a lot as a kid, cllmbing Mt. Scott, catching rattlesnakes and releasing them for the hell of it, and always dreaming what this place was like when the Plains Indians and the buffalo roamed.

Quanah Parker and Geronimo spent the end of their lives near here. Quanah's Star House is in nearby Cache and he is buried along with his mother Cynthia Parker on Chief's Knoll in the Ft. Sill Cemetery. Geronimo is also buried on the post in an Apache cemetery. Quanah was present when the first bison, a gift from the Bronx Zoo, were reintroduced into the Wichitas. His grandson was my junior high teacher and track coach. He resembled his famous grandfather and also bore his name. He was slender and athletic. Held the state broad jump record when I was in high school. These ancient mountains have been a life-long favorite haunt of mine.
