I'm doing video's up, waiting for the wife to finally say "oh I don't care, go ahead" lol!!
1) Here's the "$38,000 in damage" (see what I mean by BS??)
2) Pulling the skid plates and stuff off
3) Everything home on the floor of the garage
Update;
1) Talked to the insurance adjuster who passed me off a couple times to the auction company that has possession of it now. Asked if I could buy it back and they said I can come bid on it if I have a dealers license as it's going to a dealers auction. Insurance said it was worth 36,000...
Ups and downs;
Up-New veh, no mileage, all nicks/scratches gone, get my skid plates etc back, 3 more features than the old one
Down-Higher monthly by $17 for one year longer, insurance will probably go up,18" rims...
Lots more but overall all I care is I finally saw a smile after 2 weeks, lol...
Well, they wrote it off. Complete bullshit as far as I'm concerned. As a mechanic of 36+ years, when I hear a body guy say :the axle was ripped right out and probably needs a transmission", BULLSHIT!!!
The axle was folded back until the CV broke. In other words, put a pry bar behind the cv joint...
Yeah weāre fine, wifeās shoulder is a bit sore but other than that weāre ok. Monday hopefully weāll see the adjuster and they can tell me if itās fixable or not.
Good news (I suppose) is that we paid extra for āreimbursement costs for 30 monthsā so free replacement if they go that way.
The issue...
As I posted in the loose swaybar thread, I think I wrote it off last night in a snow storm. Wife won't let me post the video as she's too upset of me wrecking "baby"...
Once we talk to the adjuster we'll see. All the doors open and close, no air bags went off, no glass is broke, just the front...
Welllllll crap....Going home last night in a snow storm....
Just missed the guard rail and went off a bank, down a hill and ended up 100ft down in the woods. I made a whole video but the wife won't let me post it. Still too upset I wrecked "baby".
No air bags/broken glass/doors all open and...
Was the pic of off road tires intended for me cursed bronco? If so, We have off road tires, just haven't put them back on yet. (snowing today, 6" down and still snowing for two more days!) Was a nice spring look to it here, lol!
We still don't have sliders installed....this summer I'll fab up something. One thing I didn't know until I tried to drill holes for the skid plate is that the rockers (if not more) are heavy, HEAVY metal. As in, went through 3 bits drilling 4 holes! Didn't seem overly thick, just very hard to...
So, the link was worn out as I suspected so Ford ordered a new one.
Parts came in, took it to the dealership, instead of 1hr it will be 2hr's...ok....
Turns out, RC sent two new sway bar links because they have improved the design.
NO CHARGE for the links, $120 or whatever it was to install...
Looking at getting more clearance for front tires, I'd build a new lower control arm that swings the ball joint 1-2" forward with all else being the same. (basically straighten out the arm a bit) This would keep everything stock but move the centre line of the front tire an inch or so forward...
Nope, 38mpg Canadian which is 32mpg US. (4.54L per Can gallon, 3.89L per US gal)
Set on eco and set cruise at 100km (62.5mph) some hills but pretty flat highway.
lol, you need 1000 subs and 10,000hrs of watch time. I have 200 subs and 3500 hrs. The only one making money is YouTube.
Thought others on a BS forum would enjoy seeing a BS wheeling.
Nothing nefarious, not āscammingā just posting videos and enjoying retirement.
Sorry, havenāt been back. Itās not loose, the upper link (ball and socket) are loose, not the nuts attaching it. Same as a tie rod end or ball joint gets play in it.
To follow up though, the wife took it in to the local ford dealership and after a quick look, ordered a new sway bar link. Donāt...
So for those who don't know, we have a 2021 badlands BS. Factory is 1.5" higher than a non-badlands and I had ford install the 1.5" RC kit at the dealership. The drivers side swaybar link is loose and starting to knock. 43,000km's on it, not sure if it's still under warranty. Anyone have any...
