Lots of battery talk lately. The BS has been out for 3, 4 years now. Plenty of time for people to need a new one and get them replaced. So got me thinking that I wanted to see what the different experiences have been on that.

Please don't answer unless it applies to your BS.
Also if you have a 23 or 24, please don't vote that your battery is FINE.

For instance, I own a 23. So Im not casting a vote. I would only cast a vote, if I had replaced my battery so far. In which case, I have not.

'21 Big Bend here, had A LOT of electrical gremlins pop up around 28k miles, I had taken it to the dealer several times with no luck in tracking them down (I've made and commented on several threads on my electrical problems). I ended up just living with it till 37k miles and finally pulled the trigger and bought a Ford AGM battery and haven't had any issues since.

21' Badlands (same wildtrack here in Brazil): battery died/replaced 2 months ago. Since that, I had some start/stop issues until the battery management system was reset at the dealership last week. Before that, I tried the BMS reset procedure, but it didn't solved the issue. After the recent Ford news, I'm sure the original battery would still be working by now.

I just replaced my battery this past Sunday with an AGM. Vehicle started fine, drove to my brothers house down the street. Car sat a few hours then when it was time to leave I was able to unlock the doors but when trying to start the vehicle it was completely dead. I didn’t get any warnings on cluster regarding low voltage etc. However, for the past few months I have notice sometimes vehicle would have a bit of trouble starting in cold weather. Original flooded battery lasted me almost 2.5 years and I always turned off auto start/stop.

I have a 2021 Badlands with a lead acid battery. At 29,500 miles I’ve had no issues.

I have an early build 21 Badlands (delivered February 2021). A year ago, I had the issue where my vehicle died twice while stopped at a traffic light. I was able to re-start it each time. Note that I never use the auto stop/start. I turn it off when I turn on the ignition. Dealer said my battery wasn’t holding a charge and replaced It. I had just over 4.000 kilometres on the odometer.

Was the battery replaced during any of those visits? Did you indicate as such on the poll?

I had my 2021 Badlands battery replaced under warranty at 18 months due to electrical issues, vehicle was not trust worthy. No problems since replacement.

Unfortunately it was not replaced at any of the dealer visits due to "not being able to replicate issues", I ended up paying for the AGM after my warranty expired. It was roughly about 18 months since the car was produced which is what I voted in the poll

Everyone needs a batter tester like this one:
MOTOPOWER MP0515A 12V Car Battery Charge Tester and Alternator Analyzer

Just test the battery every couple of months and there will be no surprises. These work great and you can get them on Amazon for about $35. It uses an algorithm that estimates remaining battery life based on cold cranking amp.

Changed my vote today — just changed my battery at @ 3.5 years (delivered 03/21). Living in sunny SoCal guess I can’t complain ?
