What was your first car/truck/bike?

My first car was a 1961 Simca. I blew it up racing a Volkswagen in Macon Ga.
My favorite hot rod was a 1951 Chevy 5 window pickup. It had a 300 ci straight 6. I spun an insert and replaced the engine with a 327 from a 1965 Chevelle. 325 hp. It was all Chevy parts from 1949 to 1971. I had to have a special driveshaft built but that was all that wasn't Chevy. I had a 59 Chevy truck posi rear end. I welded angle iron for traction bars. I had a Chevy 3 speed synchromesh tranny. It would do 50 in low and 100 in second. Oh what fun. It was a true Camaro killer.

The Cleveland was a great motor. It was also chosen for the De Tomaso Pantera. I remember one at our local Ford dealer in San Diego in 1972, $8,800 new.

I had a 351 Cleveland in the Mach 1 I had that I posted a picture of on the 1st page of this Thread. And the 351 Cleveland with the 4V heads can make a lot of power with those Heads.

Ah, the first bike. That would be Kawasaki's "shock and awe" model, a '71 Mach III, aka The Widowmaker. Absolutely mental. If you know, you know.

Some interesting facts about a couple of my old bikes-

The Bridgestone 350 GTR was actually sold in a department store (Montgomery Wards) in the mid to late 1960's.

The 1969 Triumph Bonneville I bought new for approximatly $1800 from the dealership.

My '66 was red too with white trim on the cab. '68 was powder blue.

I had a '66 El Camino with a 327 and I miss that car every day.
