We were driving along and hit a particularly rough bit of road and something randomly dropped from under/behind the glove compartment.

Anyone know what this is?

Plastic retaining clip that goes on a plastic tab on a trim piece. Could be an extra that hid there during assembly or it could have flown off when a panel was popped loose.

Looks like the trim clip for the dash side panel. Consistent with where you found it.

I think that’s the clip that Ford is referring to when they say “Built Ford Tough”. I'm not a mechanic though so you might wanna take it to a dealership

Actually, that's a Ford camping clip to reseal an unfinished bag of potato chips. No one has ever had to use one, so even the dealers have forgotten what they're for. Kinda like products to reseal an unfinished bottle of wine. Nobody has ever had to use one!

That is referred to as the "Engine Retention Clip". One that comes loose, the engine can unexpectedly fall out while driving. Be careful.
