I just had the water pump on my ‘23 OB replaced too at roughly 16,000 miles. Thankfully still under warranty. Sure hoping the new part has been corrected lasts longer.

With all of the issues in the '21-'24 models with the water pump, I would probably be inclined to just go with an aftermarket water pump. Gates offers one for the 1.5L with a limited lifetime warranty for around $30 for the part. The Motorcraft pump is well over $150 and only offers a 24 month warranty. Other aftermarket options only offer 12-24 month warranties as well.

Thanks for that info. If mine goes out again, it will be after my warranty ends this coming August since I just had it replaced. I will definitely go with a different pump at that point.

I had it replaced on my '23 about maybe a year ago. I've seen the coolant level a little low but not out. But I check it regularly. At my last oil change, they marked that they topped it off. For comparison, I bought a gallon of coolant when I first heard about the issue (maybe back in mid 2023) and I have about 2/3 of a gallon left. That may or may not be standard usage.

What's the labor cost from Ford or other shops to change the water pump? I would imagine it's not an easy job changing the water pump.

Changing a water pump on a Ford hasn't been an easy job since 1963.
