This is actually an issue with galvanic corrosion and not due to differences in expansion. Aluminum is sacrificial to copper when it comes to Corrosion. This is why there is an issue with the valve stems since they are typically brass and the caps if they’re not plastic.
A film of water proof grease on the connection and all should be fine. Not much, just enough to coat the parts. It is silicone based and clear so once you have applied it, you should never really know it is there unless you touch the stem.

Still, sort of a maintenance item. Probably best to avoid the issue all together unless you are dead set on getting some metal valve caps.

So not the place for “the bigger the glob, the better the job”?

Ok, nearing the end. Mine is absolutely the last car on the train it was on not yet delivered to the dealership (yes they know how to track the trains, or should). So did up the paperwork today at least so they can start prepping it while I’m away at work, then I’ll pick it up once I’m home again & trade keys.

I made out just fine on the new price, being price protected with x plan meant I’m in for about $8K less than sticker now. Plus they applied a $500 incentive & 3.49% financing, which were in effect at time of order & aren’t now.

EDIT: What I should’ve noted was this all was without any prompting or asking on my part (though I did question earlier to make sure I was price protected) and ZERO argument or negotiation.

As expected though they did get me lower on trade than I might’ve hoped and a bit on warranty/maintenance. To ensure I got proper credit back on those (I could’ve held their feet to the fire to give me credit back anyways I suppose) plus paying tax only on the difference, I did accept their lower trade price so in the end made out about as well as I could as a private sale.

So if not as well as I’d have hoped, I did as well as I could. Now to actually get the keys…

Thanks! That’s what I love about this forum TBH, everybody wants the best for everyone, certainly when it comes to Bronco ownership experience at least. Though it feels odd that this thread should start to get a little more quiet through the summer as 22’s wrap up & orders for 23’s aren’t starting production yet.

This thread has been pretty active and seems to continue to be, although a little less so now that @thekingprawn has his BS.

According to the tracker, mine's built and awaiting shipment. Also able to see all the module data, but I have no idea what it means.

I think you got some bum dope. If yours shipped 2 days ago it will be getting picked up in Nogales today. The Mexicano rail is the carrier that takes it from the factory to the border crossing. It is not physically possible for your BS to be in S. Car. yet. If you have the number try calling the railroad status lines.
You were definitely correct about the person telling me wrong information, maybe he meant to say SO instead of SC...per ford chat this morning ( almost a week later its probably still in Mexico ? with an ETA of 8/3 per the below.

"is In Transit and Arrived at Junction Point (Ferrocarril Mexicano S.a. De C.v. ) Nogales, SO. Shipped Rail - Railcar # BNSF303101 (Ferrocarril Mexicano S.a. De C.v. )."
