Anyone experience the vehicle shuddering when breaking and turning , especially right?? It just happened to me at a parking lot and I thought I hit the curb or something, it startled me. I was ironically coming back from the dealer. I had a recall fixed and I did mention this issue and they said they would need one of their "higher techs" to look at it and it would be 200.00 to diagnose. What just ran through my head as I drove home is that it might have something to do with the lane assist, I like the lane assist so I usually keep it on but I turned it off to see is the issue continues. If that takes care of it then I will only use the lane assist on long trips.

I've never heard of symptoms like this related to lane keeping assist. What kind of noises are you hearing when it happens?

Hi! Well not really loud noise but like it stalls a bit, you can feel it . Kind of like when you slip a clutch but not as hard. I'm trying to think of how to explain it. Feels like when you go over a cattle guard but just a couple of seconds. Like a vibration. My sons drives when we go out together and it happens all the time , he hates it, then finally my husband was driving one day and it happened and he was like, "What's that!"

Today I was in the Target parking lot on the Main Street turning right and another car was waiting to turn at the stop and another car came and stop behind him and blocked me so I slowed down and was turning very slow right as he moved out of the way and I thought I had grazed the curb or something.

I don't believe this has anything to do with lane keeping assist. Some have reported similar symptoms traced to the cylinder deactivation or the rear differential. You're the first I've heard report a shuddering while braking. Some have reported they had to replace the cylinder deactivation solenoid, others the rear differential.

Most auto parts stores have OBDII readers they will connect to your car to look for trouble codes for free. I would consider doing that before taking it to your dealer.

Oh wow, yes I know my husband goes to O'reillys or Autozone to borrow that machine. Ok, I'll let him know this information and have him do that. You are awesome!!!! Thanks you so much!

From your description it could be a problem with the RDU (rear drive unit) when they start to go bad they will make a grinding sound and shudder when doing slow tight turns. If that's the cause of the problem Forrd will change the RDU fluid, if that doesn't correct the problem the RDU will need to be replaced. Hopefully you are still within the drivetrain warranty period or if not have an extended warranty.

You might check the cardboard felt stuff around the front wheels. The sound you're describing could be a front wheel rubbing against a loosened felt fender liner when you turn the wheels.

The lane keeping shouldn't be active at those speeds. Maybe you have an issue with a brake pad or disc that isn't releasing or is dragging. Wheel hub bearing or something? If you have a 2023, why is it a $200 diagnosis for what would seem to be a warranty concern?

My Chrysler 200 did just what u are saying. The dealer did an update to software and fixed it.

My local dealer wanted my credit card for a $200 service to check a warranty item (Back door seal falling off). It was irritating, because it was obvious that it was a warranty item. There was no charge, but to charge $200 to "look" at it is ridiculous. There are good reasons I didn't buy my Bronco at my local dealer.

My back door seal also likes to fall off. Did they just glue it in place?
