I'm not telling her either, she would probably be at the dealer tomorrow morning at 7AM throwing a fit.

You better use Ford brand shampoo and inneficiency remover, anything else might void the warranty! It should be available from your local dealer parts department for a phenomenal fee.
Naw I’m not that smart. I’ll use Dawn dish soap, always have always will..
Unless
I got engine greasy then any old engine foam in a can de greaser.

I don't think it's about looks or function. It's about some people always looking for something to complain about. If no vehicle ever had one of these cheap pieces of foam on top, this would be a non-issue. I guess Ford's biggest mistake was ever putting these on in the first place.

If that were REALLY true, why would so many of us be purchasing the parts and installing them themselves? We are not complaining, just making a case for why we want an engine cover, then doing something about it.

I am going to chuck all the underside panelling one of these days. Don’t care about sound deadening, do care about collecting a huge amount of dirt under there. I drive enough gravel that the dirt build up is significant. Plus, undercoat spray is a lot easier to apply if you can actually see the underside. Shall happen once I get the money for custom built skid plates.
