I realize this post is quite old, but tell me about this ‘insulator’. Do I still need another part to be complete? It requires at least 4 seperate parts, the cover, insulator and 2 different mounting studs.

Check out this page for the insulator and look at the exploded drawing on this page, showing the insulator below the engine cover.I realize this post is quite old, but tell me about this ‘insulator’. Do I still need another part to be complete?
I realized mine didnt have one either. Im not worried about it. I generally take them off and throw them in the garage because they get in the way of daoing any work.
Truck is currently right outside my office door, but it’s raining like hell today, so I’ll hafta wait until I get home in the garage later to look, but I’m thinking now that the insulator is there & has been there all along. It probably supports some of those snakes living in that pit! Hafta do some investigating. Thanks for the info.Check out this page for the insulator and look at the exploded drawing on this page, showing the insulator below the engine cover.

Beyond knowing that this part exists on the 1.5L, that's all I know about it.
For example, I don't know if it interferes with the TSB for the mitigation of cracked fuel injectors. Hopefully, more knowledgeable folks can provide more info.
I wonder what function the insulator performs. Maybe it is there just to protect the engine cover from heat distortion damage? Or perhaps it protects some other parts (cables, wiring, tubing).Truck is currently right outside my office door, but it’s raining like hell today, so I’ll hafta wait until I get home in the garage later to look, but I’m thinking now that the insulator is there & has been there all along. Update. I had forgotten that a guy that works for me is now working on Thursdays, and he recently purchased a ‘23 BS with the 1.5, of course, no engine cover. Rain let up enough to pop his hood when he got here, & sure enough, there is what looks to be the insulator in question! It DOES provide supports & anchor points for the bundle of snakes. Confident now that although Ford may have eliminated the engine cover, the insulator still remains. ?I wonder what function the insulator performs. Ohhh so it's not supposed to look like spaghetti?? They actually have a trim peice for it? Mine looks like a ball of wires.I am certainly thankful that I got my Bronco Sport.
My problems with the missing cover are that I feel that I paid for something that I didn't get, and the engine looks like crap without the cover.
Oh it is definitely BS for if it was causing overheating there would have been a massive recall on the 10’s of thousands with those attached.I called Ford today dealer told the Ford Rep that it was taken of my build sheet. I was told by the dealer it caused overheating problems. It is awfully funny that just about every car has one sounds like a load of bs and I don't mean Bronco Sport.
