I've looked at some of the posts here - but can someone tell me what mods were done to be able to install the Rough Country bull bar (with 4 round lights) on a Badlands please! I am confused by what i read. I saw this other Badland at a gas station with them on and theguy said "it was not a problem at all". So I bought the kit. Any help from anybody who has done it recently is appreciated. I have messaged a few of you but no response. I saw the post where it shows the brackets were "notched" but ... HELP! :)

Very few Badlands videos on YouTube I noticed. It is easier as the towhooks mean the bumper fascia is already open to the bars, but apparently the brackets will not fit directly. The one video I did find mentioned he had a metal part made to make attaching it easier. I haven't purchased one yet but plan to in the future so I hope you get an answer.

The web page for that bar states specifically that it doesn't fit with towhooks.

Thanks. As I said - I spoke quickly to a guy at a gas station that had installed his on the same model as mine.

No, it doesn't... you take the tow hooks off and put the bar where the tow hooks were. You can have either, just can't have both.
Ok. Got it. Thanks

Yes. You would think there would be an acceptable solution.

Don't know if this will help, but I went to a place in Albuquerque to have a bull bar installed that they said would work. They then told me that the frame is different and could NOT do it. I do not know if this was because they couldn't take the tow hooks off due to welding or were trying to keep the tow hooks intact. Here is my plan (delayed by illness):

1. Get with a buddy of mine to completely dissassemble the front bumper to see exactly what the frame structure is. I'll post pictures of the process. It won't accomplish anything other than give insight into how a bull bar / grill guard can be attached.

2. I can then compare to the directions for the Black Horse Grill Guard. If it will work, I will then reassemble and order the grill guard and add it myself. If not, then I will have detailed photographs of the front end disassembled to start working on Plan C.

I saw where someone on here just trimmed the mounting bracket to fit around the tow hook. Still strong enough to hold some lights. I would like a tube style light mount. But the Rally innovations is the only one to work on the Badlands I hope as our vehicles get more popular we can have bumpers, winches, and more options for sliders. I've seen these items for Subaru crosstrek and forresters. I wonder if the Bronco Sport is going to fizzle out over the Maverick? One can not build 2 popular vehicles on one assembly line.

I find it weird that there are so many subtle differences between the trim levels. For example cross bars on the roof.... I had to make sure the bars I got were specific to the BL and not for OB or BB. You may be on to something about the Maverick; is it built on the Escape chasis like the Bronco Sport? While I like the Bronco, I already have an F150 and I can't imagine not having a smaller vehicle, even if that smaller vehicle is the Bronco Sport.

The Bronco Sport, Maverick, and Escape are all built on Ford's C2 platform. The C2 platform is used worldwide in a variety of different markets. You can read more about all the different vehicles using it at this link.

The Maverick is the same chassis as the Sports and Escapes. I already want a 6G and only went wheeling twice lol.
