Ridiculous...
Yeah and they said I would need the brake controller with it even though I don’t want one which is an additional hour of labor ($200) plus cost of brake controller. So all said and done it would probably be close to 2k just so I can have brake lights on whatever I’m towing lol.

When a friend of mine was looking to get a hitch on his Hyundai Tucson and the dealer prices were ridiculous, he found a boat trailer/RV camping trailer shop that was able to install a hitch at a more reasonable cost.
Just an idea for shopping around instead of just stealerships.

I hope this is the right section:

Ford dealership priced me out at $1200 ish for a Ford brand trailer hitch and installation. No wiring harness. Sounds ridiculous if you ask me. How much is it supposed to cost?

On a bit of a time crunch since my bronco is sitting at the dealership now…
If you go to the chats on this site, you will see that I am advertising a new U-Haul hitch for sale ($100). You can take it to U-haul and they will install it for you for a fee plus install the wiring. You will need to buy a a ball and pin.
