I got some 235/65’s Toyo ATlll with no problem on my BB
Hello Pete714,

I was wanting to add some 235s to my BB as well but don’t want to add a lift or make any mods. Have you tested them at full lock or off road? If so, still no rub?

You can do the 245/65r17s without a lift but there have still been a handful of claims that they will rub at full lock on the 3 lower trims (I can't substantiate those claims because there haven't been any pics of the rubbing). On a BL or FE, they fit all day long because of the .75" longer lift springs. 235s will fit all day on any trim. Don't try to go up to 245/70s as those will take some minor pinch weld and plastic trimming to fit, even with a lift.
Will 245s fit on the stock wheels?

I'm interested in getting some more aggressive looking tires than the stock Continentals that come with the BS Big Bend.

I will be keeping the stock wheels as I like how they look. The two tires choice brands are the Wildpeak A/T Trail or the Open Country A/T III.

So I was set on getting the 235s, but the 245s have me intrigued. I'm thinking about doing 1.5" lift in the next few months.

So do I need a lift if I get the 245s or will I be okay for the time being? I'm not super concerned about my mpg dropping a little bit.

Or can I get the lift and have the 235s?

Thanks for your help!

-Zach
Did you by chance get your new A/T tires yet? The reason I am asking is because the 235/65/17 will fit in the spare tire well. That is one of the reasons I’m going with 235 on my BB. I bought 5 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires and I wanted a matching spare that I can keep with me and not in my garage, which does no good when I’m traveling. The 245 will NOT fit in the spare tire well mounted on a wheel. I bought a steel wheel to have my spare mounted on.

Hi Brader2,
I'm trying to decide between the Toyo Open Country A/T III 235/65R17's and the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 235/65R17's for my BS Badlands (no lift). Are you saying that the mounted 235/65R17 Toyo spare won't fit in the spare wheel well? I can't really tell from the pic. (I know the 245 won't).

Thanks!

It will fit. This is one reason I went 235 vs 245. Although I could have gone 245 and placed it in the cargo area lashed down but I need that space and I need to keep a full size spare with me. The donut will not work if you upsize tires. I’m getting mine installed tomorrow and I’ll post pics of the spare mounted on a wheel inside the spare tire well. I’d post a video but not sure I can…

I went with the Faulken Wildpeak AT Trail 235/60/18 on my OB. I can't get the 17" wheels I want due to backorders, so I have these to hold me over until I get the 2" lift installed and new wheels.

There is a very slight ride difference, but no additional noise. The ride difference may be un-noticeable to some, but I feel it in the steering wheel. I didn't want to affect the speedometer and ride too much until I go higher, then I can get it recalibrated.

They look much better than the stock 235 Michelin Primacys.
