Given its got about 1/3rd of the electronic crap the BL had, I'm happy with the odds...
2,500 miles logged so far and there's no mystery noises, no electronics taking a mind of their own, just a baseline 4WD that goes when and where I want it to.
I'll report back in one year ;-)
I never updated my problem. Three months later, after actuator 'A' of the 4WD control unit was replaced, it ran good as new. Two months later, the indicator lights, loss of drive modes, loss of 4WD, loss of traction control reappeared. This time the dealer told me it is actuator 'B' of the same...
It was a practical move. I had a Tacoma and didn't need a pickup truck anymore. The Bronco Sports came on the island and small SUV would fit the bill. After 6,500 miles the 4WD Control Module ate itself. So, for two months I was driving an over-dressed Escape. No AWD, no traction control, etc...
2021 Badlands. 6,000+ miles. Got the messages of doom today. Didn't go out at restart. Dealer can't see me until the 31st. And being I'm 6,000 miles from the 21st century, Lord knows how long it will take to get any necessary parts to fix. Thankfully still under warranty.
Who is Scott Kilmer and why would you care what he says? He's not the one buying the BS. BTW, zero problems with my Badlands since purchased 7 months ago...
Ford Ranger Lifts Nudge Bar built by Robby Woolworth. Superb construction and slid right in where the tow hooks used to be. Removing the tow hooks was a royal PIA! Had to drop the front wheels off and get to the main backing nuts through the wheel well.
Loving the look and it adds some...
Added the bumper protector. Ordered from Amazon in .... October. It finally arrived a few weeks back. Fit is great but I'm not very confident in the double stick tape it came with.
Purchased my "Mikan" new last Labor Day weekend. Only 2,100 miles so far (can't go too far on a 27 mi long island). I haven't done much to it and don't plan on any extensive work. I'm very happy with her as she is.
Mods so far:
Windshield Heat Tint
Ford Offroad Crossbars
Yokohama Geolander II...
Here in the tropics, where you're 3 feet from the Sun year round, the clear windshield tint is a must. Mine filters out 70% of the heat and 97% of the UV. No window shades required anymore.
Have you checked the on/off switch on the end of the turn-signal lever? I personally don't like the system and had to dig through the owners manual to find the switch.
