Jumping on this thread as front tow hooks have been on my list for a while now. Has anyone done it yet? Are there specific hooks that will fit the sport or is that a pretty generic part? Understanding that it would really just be for looks without the additional bracket structure, its still...
Glad it hasn't caused you any problems. My mpg started going back up as soon as the deflector was removed so I am satisfied as to the cause, but I encourage anyone else to draw their own conclusions based on their experiences :)
Don't know about under MSRP, but Dave Burlison at Bickford Ford in Snohomish is great to work with. I've bought 2 vehicles from him including my Bronco.
Congrats on the twins, and Merry Christmas! My post was a little tongue-in-cheek...I was the only one who showed up haha! It's alright though, it was a beautiful day for a drive :)
I understand your skepticism, I don't usually take the word of random internet people either ? Just posting my experience in case it is helpful to someone.
Glad its working for you! For me, keeping the deflector, which is questionably effective at best, was not worth a 10% decrease in gas mileage. To each their own.
I am considering a clear wrap. Removal probably took 30-40 minutes using a hair dryer to warm up the adhesive, and then having a friend help peel it off. The deflector didn't exactly make it out alive, but the Bronco did so I'm satisfied!
Feel free to have your own opinions and hypotheses, but mine has been proven correct by my average mpg going back up after taking off the deflector. So I am pleased with that outcome.
I appreciate the word of caution and am glad that you aren't having any issues! I actually got it off this morning pretty easily with no damage at all, and have already seen a 3/10 per mile improvement in average mpg which confirms my theory.
