Another wonderful day of BS ownership. I got in my BS this morning to go to work to find that my CEL is on, yet again. Ford App says that its an O2 sensor malfuncition. I just had my vehicle at Ford to replace an O2 sensor on January 2nd with the same note in the App. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I'm about done with this vehicle. I have 8400 miles on the odometer and have been to the dealer 3 different times for CEL issues. Along with the CEL's, I too have the brake noise that never stops and the radio completely goes black at least once a month. This is most annoying and stressful vehicle I've ever owned and that list includes my VW GTI that blew an engine.

I'm so disappointed in Ford, there is absolutely no reason for a basically new vehicle to have so many issues.

Rant over. Ugh.

From experience (not on the Bronco sport - yet), eating multiple O2 sensors can be from a misfiring spark plug (bad plug/bad coil) - this will allow unburned gas to hit the O2, which will kill it. Until the cause is found, it can continue to eat O2's.

Hypotheitically, if there was a misfire, the engine would be running abnormal. The engine runs fine as far as I know (for now) and it's not in limp mode or anything out of the ordinary.

I remote started this morning to warm it up before my drive and it came on while it was running. Same thing happened before in January.

I believe my dealer is doing good work and they've been easy to work with. It's just unfortunate that the factory has poor quality assurance when building nowadays. Last Ford I'm buying, I've learned my lesson for sure.

as a potential future owner all these issues are concerning. i dont want to be driving every other week to the dealership because my vehicle is not working....
if this is the case with mine i might have to find an alternate vehicle to obtain.....
so far i have had very few issues with my purchases, and do not want to start. my schedule cannot accommodate multiple trips to the service center without consequences....

in general all these cars nowadays with all the electronics there can be thousands of issues, go back to the tried and true of buttons and wires....at least they are easily replaced.
but all in the name of progress....(whatever)

I had a 2005 GMC Sierra that went through O2 sensors as well. My dealer just kept replacing them. I was headed to Arizona to visit my parents and 1/2 way there I blew another one. I took it into the Dealer in Lake Havasu and the service rep asked me if I wanted them to update my computer. There was a mod that would prevent this from happening. I never blew another one after that. No idea why my dealer never informed me of the update. I guess they liked my money.

Keep in mind those who have problems are generally (and understandably) the most vocal. You simply don't see people making random posts saying, "Drove my car today and nothing happened. Ran fine, no issues, everything worked as advertised."

For what it's worth, I've got nearly 12K on my Badlands with no mechanical defects to date. I don't even have the moaning brakes issue. Runs fine, no issues, everything works as advertised.

Honestly, ownership hasn't been terrible outside of my issues. When everything is working fine, I quite enjoy my Badlands. Most of my previous vehicles were purchased new and I've never come across this many CEL with any of them.

Your frustration is totally understandable. IMHO, I can't imagine that many bad O2 sensors on the same vehicle--that's some astronomically bad luck. After the second one failed Ford and your dealership should have started looking for the reason your car is destroying them, not just replacing them.

Are the O2 sensors actually failing? I'm assuming that the dealership has checked the wiring harness and associated connectors for defects (but maybe they haven't). Cheers!

Like any other shop, there are mechanics, and there are part replacers no matter where you go.

I picked up my BS Badlands on Saturday. Everything running fine (normal). According to my service rep, there is a TSB on the O2 sensor. Water gets into the connector and corrodes the terminals. Basically they seal the connector and replace the part. We'll see how long it lasts.

Well said! My 2022 BSBL has over 7k miles, driven in 2 feet of snow at a mountain resort, ice conditions to the mountain resort, 100 degree days vacation trips to the beach, etc with no issues. I’d definitely buy another one, I’ve owned original Toyota PU, Ford power stroke diesel 7.3L, and still own my Dodge hemi Ram. Every day I drive it it’s like a breath of fresh air, an escape from the hectic noisy lives we all live. I close the door and relax in a quiet entertaining vehicle, I love it!!!

She’s a beast in the deep snow! I really like how well the 4 wheel drive works in the snow even without having to switch goats. I think I’ve only had a tire slip once and that was on sheer ice.

I took my Badlands on some really steep rocky/sandy hills and some very steep gullys while hunting javelina. It performed flawlessly. I do need a lift and a metal skid plate on the driver's side though. I hate the sound of scraping in the center on a rutted road.

After 10,000 miles I'm getting the backup alarm from the brakes. I'm o.k. with that. It will make the dogs and kids get out of the way.
