Is it possible that while the average age is 55, the distribution isn’t very even/equal? I’m looking at the BS as probably having a large number of younger buyers, given it’s now the cheapest thing in Ford’s showroom. But there’s likely also a large segment of older drivers attracted to the boxy shape, needing a compact to fit in their condo parking garage while not wanting the senior citizen image of the Escape or CRV.

Average age of a new car buyer is about 53. Low price and perceived safety is a big draw for the "my kid turned 16 and i want them to be in something safe"

Fatalities both inside and outside the car are trending up overall. It's the highest now in 15 years.

Here’s a link to an incident where a Bronco Sport fell 400 feet off a shelf road in Black Bear Pass in Colorado. Probably has been shared here before, but relevant to this thread ….

Also: Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger

“Ford Bronco was the 17th most dangerous vehicle given its fatal accident rate of 6.6 per billion miles, which is 2.3 times higher than the overall average of 2.8. In terms of individual model types, that fatality rate also ranked the Bronco seventh among all SUVs, compared to a segment average of 2.2. The Ford Bronco wasn’t the only Blue Oval vehicle to make this list either, as it was joined by the Ford Ranger – which ranked as the second-most dangerous pickup.”

Only 17th? I was hoping it would be ranked much higher (I just convinced my ex to buy one last month).

Drivers, either the owners or other fools on the road are 98% the problem.

Their brain housing group constantly malfunctions. From texting to inattentive driving to stupidity, all contribute to safety issues and accidents.
A wise man once said "Stupid is what stupid does"
