Sync Navigation Map Update NA 2 23 Now Available

Before updating, make sure you are running Sync 3.4 Build 23188 or higher.

Ford offers 3 years of navigation map updates at no charge. Each download is a one time download. This means you can only download each year’s update one time. Each navigation map update, directly from Ford, is tied to the vehicle’s VIN.

As an alternative, you can utilize CyanLabs and install the navigation map update at no charge. I am choosing to use the official update method directly from Ford.

This is my fourth update for my 21 OB. Ford is charging me $109 for the digital download. A preloaded USB version, includes a USB flash drive, is $149.

This update includes new maps and updated Gracenote version. To get this update use the following link:

This is a large download to your Windows device or your Mac. Make sure you have a fast reliable connection. It may take over an hour to complete. Make sure your device does not go into sleep mode. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS.

You will need a USB-A or USB-C flash drive that is 16GB or larger. The flash drive will need to be reformatted to exFAT.

FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS and copy files to USB flash drive. This may take up to an hour.

We are now at 2 hours.

Time to update the vehicle. This will take an additional hour. Plan when taking a long drive. The vehicle must be running the entire time.

Remove any USB cables from the ports.

Insert the flash drive in the ports under the climate controls. FOLLOW ON-SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS

Do not remove the flash drive. Do not turn off the engine.

This will take around an hour to complete.

I believe that policy has changed to only one complimentary map update. Free for downloading but $40 for the USB Free version.

Your vehicle is eligible for a complimentary SYNC® 3 Navigation Map update. Ford does not specify how many years complimentary updates are available. I would not be surprised if it is only one time. My 2020 Escape and 2019 Edge were 3 years. In the past I could never get the download to work so ended up buying the loaded USB.

You can do a one time download of NA 2 23 maps. That is the definition.

You get three years of free map updates.

Next year, you get a one time download of NA 2 24 maps.

I doubt it but you may be right. Why would you need two downloads for the same map in your BS?

2022 Bronco Sport Badlands with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ (Premium Package)

At purchase Ford stated Nav Maps updates provided free for 5 years and SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel Link service provided free for 5 years.

This (Nav Maps NA 2 23) is my 3rd update. All three were no charge (I use my own USB-C Device)

Nav Maps NA 2 23 download from Ford website to my Windows 10 laptop took 24 minutes.
Another 25 minutes to copy the 14 zip files to my USB-C Device.
And 49 minutes in the vehicle to update to Nav 2 23.

Depending on the year your Bronco Sport was purchased and/or model year of your Bronco Sport, various owners are reporting different info for how many free Nav Maps updates (via use of an owner provided USB Device) they believe applies to their vehicle. ?

For me, I have a 2022 Bronco Sport Badlands with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ (Premium Package)

At my vehicle purchase, Ford stated Nav Maps updates are provided free for 5 years and SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel Link service is provided free for 5 years.

This (Nav Maps NA 2 23) is my 3rd update. All three were no charge. (I use my own USB-C Device)
