When I start my BS, the radio goes straight to Carplay. I know I can navigate to source and get Sirius. However, I was searching the internet and saw one reference to disabling Carplay at start up. Unfortunately with no indication as to how. I've looked at dozens of instructions and videos, but nothing useful came of it. Anyone out there know the magic sequence? :frown:

In my 25 OBX it starts with Android Auto maps, and XM/Sirius audio. I don't have any Apple products to test.

It's a setting in your Apple phone.

Don't have my phone right now but I think it's in the Carplay menu.

I have CarPlay connected on my sync 4 Escape and have used on 2025 Bronco Sports that were dealer loaners. When CarPlay is active I found that it automatically starts up like Red&Bad mentioned. I found the CarPlay settings under the General tab in settings. The only setting I see that would stop CarPlay from automatically starting up is the one to turn CarPlay on or off. I am still using IOS version 18. Do you have version 26? Is there an additional setting that allows you to keep CarPlay on but not automatically start up unless you tap the CarPlay button on the sync screen or is the only option to turn CarPlay off and only switch it to on when you want to use it?

on your iPhone, go to menu, CarPlay, and then you should see a list of vehicles pick the one you don’t want to connect on startup, and switch it on/off as you please.

We'll give that a try. However, I see a big Sync 3 on your image. Too cold to go check now, I'll update when the sun comes out.

That SYNC 3 is likely from another car I worked on.

Just get the SiriusXM app and use that in CarPlay. That's how I do it in my Bronco Sport. I don't have a SiriusXM subscription in my BS, but we have one in my wife's Kia. I just log into the account and use the app in CarPlay.

I just did an update this morning. I have IOS 26. I now have version IOS 26.2

Shows turning on or off CarPlay. Before at one point I remember it showed a setting of turning on or off CarPlay upon startup.

I think you're right, I had to change a setting on my phone to get carplay to work and since then it defaults to my phone when I start the car. Since I stream sirius/xm and don't subscribe to it for the Bronco it works great.
