What will a 25% tariff on products from Mexico do to Bronco Sport sales ?

If it happens, it depends on the status of the nearest competition.

If they don't have that added price burden, BS sales will surely be hurt.

OTOH, it would be quite supportive of used BS prices.

Unless and until tariffs are imposed, and the specific details released, I won't be getting my panties in a wad over it.

There is a follow on article from the 1/20/25 12:14pm version you posted.. dated 1/21/2025 that says Ford may get hit with tariffs after all. Also said Ford will deal with the tariffs like any other government mandate

Thanks - I didn't see that. My Badlands Sasquatch is scheduled to be built the week of 2/10/25. Hope they get bogged down in this whole process for a while. Don't think I'd want to pay an extra 10k for it.........

You know Rick, if mine is $10k more, I just might buy something else.

Did you all not get price guarantees when you ordered?
No, I did not know it was a thing. I was prepared to make a deposit in August but my vehicle could not be ordered. Then one day I got a notification that my order was placed. I recently asked my salesman for a price out the door and he could not give me one saying that there may be incentives or rebates. But he just told me to calculate 6% tax and about $600-$800 for fees.

I think price guarantees are pretty standard to the dealer - when they order a retail order, Ford agrees to honor the price at the time it was ordered. So if they have a price increase between when you ordered and when you get the vehicle you get the price when you ordered it.

I seem to recall an instance in the past where to avoid tariffs, a number of car manufacturers would leave a part off in primary assembly, then attach it at the dealer or other facility, making “final assembly” in the US, thus avoiding the tariff.

Now, I don’t claim to know that this would be even remotely possible in the current instance, but for every rule, there’s always regulatory needles to be threaded.
