So I took my 21 Bronco Sport Outerbanks in to Ford on Monday, they said it was not the RDU but they needed to replace the Left Lower control arm, they also changed the cabin filter and did brake fluid change. They said it would be ready Wednesday, they didn't call me until Thursday to pick it up. So as I'm leaving the dealer parking lot I notice the blinker is going super fast. When my husband got home I forgot to tell him, we went to the store and the first thing he mention is the blinker. On the way back home it was dark about 8:00pm, I noticed the headlights weren't on, he could not turn them on, this guy didn't see us at the red light and decided to switch lanes and almost hit us.This morning I noticed red wires sticking out from underneath where the brake peddle is. So I took it in this morning first thing and told him what happened and he tucked the wires underneath and took it in the shop, so he said the headlights were both disconnected. I asked why they did that, he said they didn't open the hood, they only worked underneath. Isn't the brake fluid under the hood??? I said well somebody here did it, he told me no someone must be messing with me. I told him who? It was locked at my house, my neighbors were all at work, it was another record breaking 114 degrees outside, who the heck is gonna be out there messing with my car anyways. I just called him again and told him it had to have happened there because the blinker was going crazy when I left. Soon as they connected the headlights it stopped. He showed me where they connect on each side and said that the longer wires were tucked to one side. I will not be returning to this dealership.

Which dealership ? None of us want to go to that shop

(I have a guess as to which it was)
I'd love to know your guess. Hopefully it's not the one closest to me...

Rodeo Ford, an Earnhardt Ford in Goodyear, AZ. Took it on Saturday explained what happened and just told them to fix it. They have not called or texted, I called and left messages for two individuals yesterday. No calls yet.

Well, I will not be servicing any vehicle at Rodeo Ford. Never been a fan of Earnhardt dealerships from back in the day when Tex was riding his steer in the commercials.

Don Sanderson in Glendale AZ is the only dealer that I will deal with. I have years of history with them, and am very happy there.

Color me unsurprised. I’ve disliked Earnhardt for decades. Thanks for the confirmation.

Yes, I know Sanderson has excellent reviews and reputation so even though it's a bit further out I think I will be taking it there. I am gonna use it for a while since I just got new tires and Tinting, then I will be trading it in. Not sure for what though. I need a car for up in the mountains as I will be snowbirding.

As a third person reading what the dealership told you it sounds very fishy to me. First is the control arm change out. If it was defective the sound it makes would be much different than a reverse left turn shudder that is typical for a bad RDU. The shudder is very specific, you can hear it and feel it, not so with a control arm, the CA would makes more of clunking noise, maybe vibrate at speed. In my case the RDU shudder was undeniable, especially when in reverse and turning out of a parking spot. If the shudder has been fixed with the CA change out I would be surprised, if not replicate the problem with the service manager next to you. Don't let the SM or Tech in the drivers seat, do exactly what you do when you hear it. Not to say the mechanics know what they are doing, I made that mistake at first and of course the problem was not replicated with someone else behind the wheel. As far as changing out the brake fluid. That is generally a three year requirement. Why the dealer would do that before three years is suspect to me.

The blinker issue (hyper-flashing) is not a big deal. Some cars can go 10 years before a bulb goes out, other's much sooner. Its a easy and inexpensive fix. For the headlights that can be a big issue. I have noticed at night when I go through a local tunnel it takes time for the photo-cell to register. The tunnel is lit up like the sun so it soaks the photo-cell with a super bright light. It takes about 8-10 seconds for the photo cell to register that it is dark once I exit the tunnel. I have to manually turn the headlight switch on "ON" while in the tunnel after exiting so I have lights again. I wait 10 seconds after exiting before turning the switch back to automatic. The photo cell in mine might be defective or just not engineered to be quick on sensing darkness, especially after being exposed to extreme bright lights. It is something to be aware of if the issue is the same with all 2021 Sports. Good luck with your problems, make sure the dealer service manager knows everything. Hopefully all the bugs will be fixed before the warranty expires.
