Covered under comprehensive, 250 deductibleAlso. What if you don't already have glass coverage? That's a $500 deductible in most states
My roof imploded on my brand new car 250 mile on it , it was in a million pieces may 15 2010 ,cool morning 75 degrees going 70 mph on interstate, dealership covered. That glass in that bronco would kill someone in a major accident. I am going out and look at the safety sticker on my roof . This needs to be looked into for everyone’s safety.yeah I don't mean to salt the wound...yet another reason I specifically chose no badlands package, no moonroof. It's a pretty thing, but wrought with options to fail. leaks, cracks, malfunctions which I've had happen with the only moon roof I owned. Swore it off never again. Ford should still make this right.
Oh zero doubt. My main point was, as random as it was...hard to tell exactly what happened. A dealer will typically try to avoid any responsibility which is nuts...they just pass it on to Ford and that's a bad look discrediting a customer. They SHOULD take the glass and examine what happened before it's the next tire roll over lawsuitMy roof imploded on my brand new car 250 mile on it , it was in a million pieces may 15 2010 ,cool morning 75 degrees going 70 mph on interstate, dealership covered. I was wanting the B&O system, and would have paid dearly for it on a Big Bend had Ford offered it Ă la carte, but I ended up going with the Outer Banks + OB pkg (no moonroof). Not a moonroof fan either.Only ordered the OB package for the B&O sound system, didn't really need the moonroof. I have only opened the moonroof on my '16 F150 once since I have owned it. The OB package without the moonroof was $600 less.
Good article, thanks for posting, although reading about entire sunroofs departing moving vehicles gives me another concern when riding motorcycles.Causes of Sunroof Explosions | Glass.com
An interesting article on sunroof glass explosions, anybody know if the BS has a tempered or laminated moonroof?
My 2008 or so Taurus brand new imploded with 250 miles on odometer, it was definitely tempered glass ,they replaced it immediately.Wow that is the first I heard of a laminated moonroof, did not know that was a thing.Causes of Sunroof Explosions | Glass.com

By the time I ordered my OB the moonroof was not available for the rest 2021 model year due to "shortages".Had Sun/Moon roofs on most of my cars and never had an issue like that. Ordered mine with the OB package and looking forward to enjoying sun and moon while I drive!
My BL was in production for nine weeks during the moonroof/tow shortage. It went into production on December 2 and left the plant on February 1. I was very nervous about it sitting around in a storage yard half built. It also arrived at the dealer with chips along the edge of the back window, scraped/scuffed/gouged rocker panel and 75 unexplained kms on the odometer.I was thinking the same thing. There was moonroof shortage a while back causing production delays. Wonder if this issue could be due to them switching to different supplier. Pure speculation though.
