Remote start limitations

I have a 24 Bronco Sport Badlands that I have had just a few weeks. I seems that the key fob remote start and the Ford Pass phone app, neither will turn on the air conditioner when the SUV is started remotely. I live in S.Texas and the remote start features and useless to me if they don't start the air conditioner too. Is this normal or am I missing something in settings?

I may be wrong (and someone will correct me if I am), but believe that if your climate controls are set to “auto” and the temp is set to, say, 72 deg that the system will cool/heat to that temp when remotely started. I think you can also control heated steering wheel, etc in the settings screens.

I agree with the above post. My HVAC is always set on AUTO and it will either turn on the A/C or heat, seats, and steering wheel as needed.

Perhaps Remote Start options are not set in your Infotainment screen:

Settings
Vehicle
Remote Start Setup
Is "Activate Remote Start selected?"
There you see options for Climate Control, Seats, and Duration.
Select Climate and set it to either Auto or Last Settings.

When using remote start on my ‘23 BS Heritage Trim (not the Limited), the heat or a/c always come on, regardless of whether the climate control is set to “Auto” or not. I’m guessing there has to be a setting somewhere in the guts of the system to control that.

ya something is not working, even if you dont have it on auto it will revert to last setting and if it's hot i would assume last setting has air on.
