Do you hear/feel anything when it fails, or is it just completely unresponsive? My thought here is that if the relay is still firing, then the latch mechanism may just be gummed up. In any case, after five years a good cleaning & lubrication of the latch assembly is good preventative maintenance.
So this will work on my 21 BS for like a week and then the passive entry for the hatch stops working again and I don't touch the hatch button on the keyfob. The rear glass always works. I think these vehicles have a lot of electrical gremlins lurking. I have to really pay attention cause sometimes this vehicle won't turn off the headlights when I lock it, even though the switch is on automatic..if I unlock and then relock the door, they will turn off. Today got in to go to the store and the damn airbag light on the dash came on, when I got in vehicle to leave the store the airbag light was off. This Ford is fucking stupid.....never again.Try this first although may not help because you said button on dash won’t unlock but mine unlocks the rear hatch window
Does the rear hatch window on yours unlock like it is supposed to (left button at rear hatch door, button on dash)?
