When I saw the pics on your other posts it looked like frame damage, my first thought was totaled but you will find out soon

BS is unibody construction, unlike its big brother which is body on frame.

Do you have any issues opening and closing doors/lift gate or with the fit?

We got the car back but I'm probably going to give it back to them. I'm not satisfied with their body work. The whole ordeal was a stressful experience. Communication with our auto insurance is terrible

No issues but paint has chipped off the bottom of the hatch like it must be rubbing unless it happened during impact. The hatch looks crooked in the bottom passenger corner too but works fine. Some of the spaces at the body panels in the back and right passenger side seem off. I want to take it to the car wash and see if it leaks but waiting until the appraiser comes.

Do you think this will be totaled at 106k miles? The insurance co hasn’t even called back yet since Friday.
“Totaling” a car is when the cost of repair is more than the current book value. Nothing to do specifically with any particular damaged components or assembly. Even frame damage can be repaired, it’s just whether it’s worth it.

I wouldn’t expect the insurance company to call back until tomorrow at the earliest. It’s a holiday weekend, and repair shops are closed as well.

Disclaimer: I'm not an insurance agent or adjuster.

Insurance companies in Pennsylvania determine a car's total loss threshold by comparing the vehicle's actual cash value (ACV) to the cost of repairs plus the salvage value. If the cost of repairs exceeds the ACV, the car is deemed a total loss. The ACV is calculated using recognized pricing guides like the Kelley Blue Book or NADA guide. If the insurance company determines that the cost of repairs exceeds the ACV, they will typically declare the car a total loss and offer a settlement based on the car’s ACV. Additionally, if the car has significant upgrades or modifications, the insurance company may not consider these when determining the ACV, and the policyholder can provide documentation to support a higher valuation.
If you have rental car coverage while the vehicle is getting repaired, that is also taken into consideration. Example: Since parts for a Tesla are near impossible to get, this is one reason a Tesla with minor damage is more likely to get totaled. Which is also why a Tesla is more expensive to insure than a traditional ICE vehicle.

Assuming a salvage value of ~$11K based on "buy it now" prices on CoPart, a guess is repairs would have to exceed ~$15K to be totaled. I might be more tempted to take the payout and step into a '25 with zero miles.

I never know what you're talking about bro. You mean change insurance companies?
Sell the BS itself, the damage will show sooner or later, it's better to let it go right now while the paint job is immaculate

Gotcha yeah I worry about that too. Just sucks it's only got 8k miles on it. Only had it 8 months. Don't want a 25'. But collision center has lifetime warranty on their work. Thays why i want to get my issues taken care of asap to keep my options open later. Either trade in for an f150 or full size bronco, keep, pay off sell private party later. Idk.
