"Random" CarPlay on start

My BS seems to have a mind of its own when starting. Instead of the last selection between the native Sync screen and CarPlay, it will just decide to choose the other. If it reverts to the native screen, it's always on the default (minimized map) with radio on the right. I NEVER run it that way, preferring the map maximized. When it chooses CarPlay on its own, it at least is consistent with whatever I was using last (typically Waze). The only variation of this is if the wife gets in the car well ahead of me; it'll grab her phone for CarPlay instead of mine.

My phone is always in the same relative position in the car (my right pocket), my startup sequence is identical, but every so often, it just launches into the other mode. It's never been that much of a bother, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this particular ghost in the machine, including those with Android Auto.

All software is fully updated on the car and phones.

Mine does wonky things too. I never know if the native Sync screen is going to show up or car play. And I never know if car play is going to show the map or is going to show a blank map. My dashboard display also likes to switch views on me each time I start - I prefer Calm Screen, but it likes to default to Off-Road Screen. I credit it to gremlins. Wait - or maybe - Bigfoot!

Those all sound like mainly ‘25/‘26 issues with CarPlay … Sync 3.4/CarPlay are mostly rock solid which they should be given how long both have been around

26 big bend and I get the same. It never opens on the same screen twice. I have gotten into the routine of waiting 1-2 minutes and then setting it to what I want. My phone is up to date and I think sync is also as I set up automatic software updates on the Bronco. I assume that software updates would include sync. Am I wrong?

Public Beta. Rock solid, no issues whatsoever. I have given up on Developer Betas though. Too old & tired to play that game anymore.

Mine is the same random screen. Sometimes it will maintain the previous layout a few times in a row if the time between each start isn’t very long.

I do not use CarPlay of Android Auto but, my dashboard display is anything but stable. I have complained to my dealer but, Ford does't seem to have an answer. More PP programming from Ford.
