LOVE it....has gone through everything I could throw at it.....even way up north in Canada where the roads don't really exist.

Here's my 21...... and my new 23 Badlands before they move my accessories over. (Old one behind it)

The 23 has everything but a moon roof....going to love it even more.
I also use premium fuel....

Do you have a lift on your Badlands? We took my Badlands to the San Juan’s end of June 2023, and unfortunately, Imogene and many other passes were still closed due to snow. We drove Corkscrew, Yankee Boy, Brown Mountain and Last Dollar. We’re planning to go back next summer, and I really want to take her over Imogene. My husband doesn’t think she’s got enough clearance without a lift. I’ve got Falken Wildpeak 235/17/65 tires. I’m so curious to know how your BL did over Imogene and Blackbear. Where do you have your tire psi? ?

Hey! We do not have a lift on ours. We did it bone stock and we do have the same Falken Wildpeak tires.

It did great over Imogene! We went from Ouray to Telluride. Definitely had to pay attention to the lines we were taking and had a spotter for the majority of the tricky spots for sure. Because of that, it was slow moving, but we made it without any damage. There were a few spots where clearance was an issue and we scrapped the bottom, but not hard enough to do any damage to the underside. I also think we could have avoided those if the right line was chosen, but it started to rain on us and we rushed a little bit more than we should have coming down into Telluride. We didn’t air down too much as we didn’t want to impact clearance too much so I think we were around 25 psi if I remember correctly.

As for Black Bear, we did NOT do the full trail. We turned around at the ā€˜one way’ sign and came back to the beginning because I didn’t feel we’d have enough clearance to come safely down The Steps. The portion of Black Bear we did do was probably easier than Imogene because there aren’t really any tricky lines you have to take and no clearance issues. It’s The Steps and the Switchbacks that get tricky on Black Bear and we didn’t attempt that when we were there.

You seem experienced in off roading, but for the benefit of others reading this I would throw out there that while we didn’t have any issues going over Imogene, that was in August of 2021. These 4x4 trails can change from year to year because of rain or how the snow melts which can carve different ruts and lines into the trails and those could very well be the difference in the clearance needed on the BS. I would encourage you to give it a shot, but don’t be overconfident just because a Bronco Sport has gone over it in the past.

Also, if you haven’t taken advantage of the Bronco Off Roadeo I would highly suggest going to that! It gave us the confidence in knowing how far we could push the Bronco Sport specifically and also gave us a feel for how it felt bottoming out and scraping the skid plates so we weren’t overly surprised when that happened with ours on the trail.

Anyway, hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much for the quick response!
The Off-Roadeo was so fun! My husband joined me last October. I thought we’d take turns, but I drove the whole time- lol! Before we got married, my husband was a teacher in Telluride and Ouray and drove for one of the jeep tour companies in the summer. He has a lot more experience than I do! That being said, the Bronco Sport is a whole different off-road animal, so we are learning together. He definitely can pick a better line than I can!

You make a great point about trails and difficulty from year to year, and that’s a great reminder to get current conditions before tackling a trail.

I didn’t mean to high-jack this post, but when I saw your photo, it directly related to what I’ve been wanting to know! Looks like you’re in Colorado. Maybe we’ll see each other in a trail someday! Lol

It’s my second one. Traded in a 2021 BigBend Shadow Black. Nothing wrong with it just fell Hard for the Atlas Blue Metallic Color is all. ( my favorite color) and the more options the OBX had.
