What does everyone work with when working on their vehicles? I switched to Team Red, after having four different brands of battery operated power tools, and cheap hand tools I’ve been using since 2003.

I will say, it’s nice having all the tools I could ever need to work on anything I come across. 🤣

I saw someone else recently had Milwaukee tools, so come on, post your toolboxes!

Craftsman and Gearwrench is what I started with back in 2003. Christmas gift my senior year of high school. I used them all throughout my adult life, than I got my current job, and well… tools needed upgrading. I’ve still got them, they’re the tools I keep in my Dakota now 😊

I’m envious . . . must be nice to own a tool store <lol>. To be honest, there’s so much “crap” in my garage I have to climb over it to get ANY tool!

I won't post pics of my messy garage and no tool box set up I've had since I was 16ish. I have upgraded it since but not much lol. With it I've been able to do everything from oil changes and brake jobs across multiple makes and models to clutch replacements, and suspension lifts on buddies trucks. Plus all the low volt electronic mods I love so much.

Been saying for years I need a shed. But I REALLY DO need a shed

Man, you sound like you like to tinker like me.

I’ve got everything from small precision electronics tools (I repair a lot of local people’s phone screens), plumbing tools, woodworking tools, car related tools, etc.

My dad says I have enough tools… but I remember as a kid he had a sign in his little wood shed above his toolbox that said “he who dies with the most tools wins”…

I’ve always been one to do all my own work, as long as it’s within reason… but I’m pretty sure it’s just my brain hyper focusing on how to do something, spending hours researching how to do it, and then weighing the cost of any potential tools to do the job vs paying someone, and always doing it myself.

My cousin owns an auto shop, and so does my best friend, so I can either do the job at my house or bring it to one of them and use their lifts. 🤣

Dad and I make maple syrup in the spring, and I bought the nail gun specifically to build our new sugar shack… he says “do you really need that? We can just use screws” I said “we could, but this will be way faster, and more fun” 🤣

You and I would get along famously lol. I also do what I can, when I can. I would much rather learn to do something than pay someone to do it. I rebuilt the transmission in my focus with upgraded synchros with only 1 very poorly informed video on YouTube. I don't really trust people to do work at the same level I would do for myself. And I too am a jack. For work i do plumbing, electrical, framing, sheetrock hanging, patching, and painting, everything in construction basically.

My truck is fitted but I seriously need a legit toolbox 🧰 for myself

Lmfao. When I went to my cousins shop to do my alignment after the lift, I walked in with papers for the torque specs, and said “now that I’ve got it on a lift, I’m going to recheck all the torque” he goes “man, I love ya, but you’re so picky sometimes…” this was, after I torqued it all at home, but then drove 20 miles for my alignment. lol

When he did the alignment, the rear camber on the driver side was 0.1° out of the “good” zone, and he goes “ok, trust me on this one, I’ve been doing this 25 years, that will not effect anything… now if it was like .5° or more, we would mess with it, but I know that red block saying it’s out is going to drive you insane, but I promise you’ll be fine”

At least he gets me. 🤣
