I had been using an Amazon knock-off that was 12volt powered and as you can imagine.. would take forever to air up my tire whenever I air downed on some of the more challenging trails. While my knock-off did its job well , the hour or so it would take for me to air up my BFG KO2s from 20lbs back to their 36lbs (these are 265x65x17s) was annoying at times.

So searching the forums here and others it seemed the ViAir 88p was the best choice. I've only used it a couple of times since I purchased it and it's like night and day from the knock off. It was more expensive to be sure, I paid about $80... but where it would take me an hour before to air back up... now I'm literally down to 15 to 20 mins... and doesn't verge on the edge of totally melting down like my old one.

Posted a short video sharing the virtues of this portable air-compressor.

That's a great choice! No substitute for decent quality. I've got a Viair 400P (with 30 ft extension hose) that I use mainly to support my 31" 5th-Wheel trailer. It will fill a 35" tire in 5-6 minutes. If using it with the BS, I would probably be running the engine while using it. Cheers!

I have the same compressor. No complaints.

I also have the ViAir 88p. I've used it a few times and it worked very well.

As with anything else, it's possible to go overboard, but while the 88P costs more than a generic compressor, it is a good value -- better quality, better performance, and greater durability than the "Squirrel Brand" compressors.

It should be the last compressor most of us will buy.

I ended up picking up the Milwaukee M18. Wanted a portable since both Bronco’s go off road. Pretty happy with it so far.
