The low speed sound that is heard is a turbo spinning up and can be louder as the temp are cooling.

All I know is that it sounded rough as hell compared to our 2.0 Ecoboost!

I am aware of what a turbo sounds like and in no world does a turbo make grinding/rattling noises.

When we test drove a used 2021 BS BB last week we immediately noticed what sounded like engine or transmission rattling and other unusual noises.

We were surprised. My wife thought it was a lemon someone quickly got rid of.

We are going to order a BS BL very soon. Hopefully it doesn’t have the same issue.
I took my '21 Badlands for a 45 minute test drive before I signed. Back roads, highway ect. Cause once you sign most dealers gonna say all noises normal.

Someone over on a FB group bought the cable and is going to replace it himself. Hopefully he updates. I'm thinking of going this route.

Here’s mine. When 35 degrees and below I get this from roof, drivers dash area, and passenger a pillar. The roof and dash go away when it’s warm. The a pillar is constant. I can put my finger in the a pillar and it’ll stop. Just uncomfortable driving with one hand on the wheel and the other across the vehicle on the a pillar. The top of the a pillar doesn’t sit flush. A new a pillar cover would probs fix that.
Didn’t notice it when I bought it since was warm and we’ve only had two days where was cold enough. Sounds like a piece of ice stuck between plastic and glass or loose plastic on glass. But I’ve checked and there’s nothing frozen or noticeable that is causing it. And only lasts until warmed up. I would think is a tolerance issue. Have 600 miles on my 22 BL. The passenger a pillar rattle I noticed on test drive. The others no since was 60 out.

Good morning! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd like to look into this noise concern. Thank you!

Sounds like ice build up. I had this myself and cleared it and noise went away.

Yeah but does it without the ice. Just has to be cold out. That was the first time it did it. And the track was clear. No ice today, just 32 degrees this morn.

Here is the passenger a pillar noise. Clicks over any lil bump at any temp. It looks like a bad mold since it doesn’t fit flush like the drivers side does and if you push in the noise goes away.

When I first purchased my OB the dealer noticed a noise coming from the roof liner. They replaced it. They said that the foam was not sitting right. Maybe something to shoot for?

Yeah what it sounds like. Been trying to figure out noise myself, cause dealers and noises. I’ve pinpointed it. The driver and passenger a pillars make reproducible noises, more so when cold out. Sounds like adhesive that sticks and then doesn’t making a clicking popping sound. The roof you can reproduce on dirt roads. More so if vented. It rattles, but if you push up on the glass in the very front it stops. There’s also a mass of rubber molding pushing past the passenger a pillar in upper 3-4” of it and into the windshield. Gonna have dealer check it next week. I’d say check there if you have weird up front dash noises.

It seems like Ford would want to put its customers at ease and say: “yes, this metal crunching noise at low speeds is normal and it’s caused by xx.”

The dealer I worked work said there isn’t a bulletin for this noise in the 2022s. They also said they lose money trying to look at sounds without clear fixes from Ford, so I can see why they sort of…all over the place when it comes to this. And they can’t mess with engines without codes or bulletins, or they’re stuck voiding the warranty. It’s a difficult dynamic for consumers.

One service-person said it was the fuel injector making the noise. But to me, it sounds more like an extended variation of the sound that happens with you put it in Park.

I have a 2022 BS BB. Noticed right away the same noises you all have heard. Ford says it was an air valve and relaxes that a week ago. That made the noise worse. It’s back at the shop now and they said it’s some oil separator now. I do t think it’s either. It’s something with the transmission. Second time for same issue and will update when I get it back today. Pretty sure I will be leaving it again. They keep telling me the car isn’t showing or throwing codes so they can’t determine what’s wrong ? But hear the noise. Someone here mentioned a pressure test on the transmission and I’ve mentioned it to the dealer. My BB only had about 300 miles on it…. Little annoyed.

Just a one week update, car still sounds great after the two fixes they completed, no swapping of transmission in my vehicle.
Hi there.
I was reading a lot of posts on the forum about those rattle clicks from the driver side front area and I’m changing the same problem.
I’m going to replace the park release cable but please please I’m dying to know what’s the part they replaced in your transmission to also quiet things down? You would be a lifesaver if you could let me know !

thanks so much
