The more I look at that situation I think hard shackles would be the best solution
Your probably right, that very well may be where I end up. They’d still slop around in the big rectangular hole but less concern about them wearing through on the bolts for sure. I have some 3/4” ones I’ll dig them out and see if they fit.

There are different shapes, so hopefully that’s what Ford had in mind when they created that set up. It would be nice if they offered the parts

Well based on the separate part price of the brush guard a “Ford” shackle would be $700 minimum 😂.

They probably don’t want anything to do with the liability involved of one breaking and turning into a bullet either.

Well you very well may be right. The 3/4” shackles I have fit. Now I just have to keep them from bashing around inside the big rectangular hole.

The plugs I was 3D printing for the soft shackles are a bit to wide to clear but this general shape is going to work. This is turning into way more of a project than I expected 😑

Honestly, you probably would have been fine with soft shackles. Most off road recovery companies have now switched to them exclusively. The same for winch lines. And they’ll attach them to almost anything they can get them around including lower control arms, frames, etc.

But, half the fun of these is coming up with things to make life easier. Sometimes, life’s just harder for a bit with the hope it’s easier later!
