Need advice. Am I getting "screwed"? Should I allow dealership to add this to new badlands I'm about to order?

hmm
Doc fees - also known as cost of doing business fees. I also like the shop rag fee from the service department.
Yep, it's literally a "selling you this car" fee, it's just a sneaky way to advertise a lower price yet charge more. Sleazy, especially at $500+!

no doc fees? I've never seen a dealership wave doc fees.
My dealer does not charge Doc fees. I was surprised they don't as it's been 10 years since I bought a vehicle from them and I thought it was the norm now.

Washington State limits the doc fee to $150, but I've still never heard of anyone waiving it. I always ask. It's basically for them doing the registration and title paperwork. At a reasonable level I'm not against it, but some of those fees are egregious.

All based on state. Most in CO are 500 bucks. If they say they are waiving it here in CO, they are most likely just lowering the MSRP sale price but in the end charge is still there.

We bought our Badlands at McSpadden Ford in Globe, AZ -- no add ons, dealer incentives, doc fees, etc. Straight forward purchase and they even delivered it to our house in Tucson. Good luck.
Globe to Tucson is a hike, that's nice of them.

Oh wow! I am thankful I posted here... ALL the replies have been very helpful!!

I had no idea about $1,000 rebate. I will bring it up to the dealership. I just went onto ford website and printed the rebate info... I assume I just have to show it to the dealership and they should adjust the quote to reflect that discounted rebate now?

PS:

Thanks so much I was very worried about that issue #1. Meaning that, even if I sign that paper, that I might be bullied around in a price war once car actually arrives at the dealer!

Thanks again!!

I was also worried about the 4.9% interest rate he wrote onto that quote for me. He hasn't run my credit yet. Like someone else in this thread mentioned... I see that on the ford website the below interest rates is what is being listed... so I guess 4.9% interest rate he wrote onto quote is accurate...

36 months 0.9%
48 months 1.9%
60 months 2.9%
72 months 4.9%
75 months 5.9%
84 months 6.9%

I plan to pay of entire car in 2 years... but in the interim I can't have a car bill every month that is well over $1,000+/month. So my plan is to select 72 or 84 month and then simply pay it off early... since it seems there really are NO pre-payment penalties. I know there is less interest if I select 36 months.. but then my monthly car bill will be too high... and I need to keep my monthly car bill low as possible for the next year or so... ?

Regarding #1: My wife and I were/are concerned about that also. Since we ordered back in Dec., I've talked with several people and read a lot of posts and my sense is that while last minute ADM/extortion can and does happen, it's unlikely.

I've been trying to find someone at Ford that I can contact ahead of time, so I'll have someone I can call in the off chance the dealer asks for ransom. So far no luck, but I doubt it'll be necessary.

You can ask the salesperson and sales manager to sign the 'order summary'/'buyer's order' but whether or not that truly locks in the price depends upon who you ask. It certainly can't hurt though.

Update... I feel like I'm being PLAYED again: I just went back to the second dealership. I went there to look at the bronco sport again and to notify the sales guy that I need a real contract, before I order the bronco sport, that SECURES price of car... NOT the below piece of paper he wants me to sign!! I do NOT trust this dealership either! I told the sales guy that I need it to be WRITTEN on the "purchase order form" that the price I will pay (once the car arrives at the dealer) is the price shown on the order form he wants me to sign right now because I'm not going to play these games where once the car shows up.... I will be entering a PRICE WAR!!

He told me "we don't work that way... you will just have to TAKE MY WORD". Were his exact words.

I'm sorry but do I have the word STUPID written on my forehead?? I told him that doesn't work for me and that I at least need the manager to sign the form as reassurance there will NOT be price mark up once car arrives at dealership. He would NOT do that either. He then said "You will have to take my word BUT if you go SHOPPING ELSEWHERE then I cannot guarantee that I will honor the MSRP shown" on the piece of paper he wants me to sign. Say what!!?? What the h*ll!!!!!

NONE of this sits right with me... I mean seriously (I find it to be almost insulting)... look at the below piece of paper he wants me to sign.. where on the below paper does it indicate anywhere that I will NOT pay more than the amount listed on that piece of paper? HORRIBLE.

Am I insane or is this not right!? I'm sorry but where on the below piece of paper does it indicate that I will NOT be weaseled around to pay MORE for the car once it arrives at their lot? If it were indicated then I would have signed below paper and ordered the bronco sport... but it isn't!

Ford Bronco Sport Need advice. Am I getting "screwed"? Should I allow dealership to add this to new badlands I'm about to order? not-acceptable-contract

Just let the dealer know you don't want those add ons. I'm in MD and a single female as well. My dealer added Data DOT Theft Deterrent which he said as it got closer to delivery, if I don't want it, they can take it off.

I'm currently leasing a mercedes GLA 2020 (only have 17,000 miles on it). My 3 year lease expires this year in november. I' almost thinking it might be better to buy-out this car for $26,000 (the MSRP on it was $38,500).

I do NOT want this car (that I'm leasing) anymore but it might be better for me the buy it and then keep it for another year or two and then hopefully when things calm down... then I can get the bronco? I don't know what to do...

The addon issue was already resolved. I walked out of that FIRST dealership. This new second dealership doesn't have add-ons.
