Both engines in the full size Bronco are Ecoboost engines. If your buying Ford it's a 99% chance what ever you buy will have twin turbos.Having given my BS their due, I'm still weak on the reiliability of the twin turbo Fords. I've considered a Bronco, but don't completely trust the engines
That might be overstating it just a bit. All of Ford's small-displacement engines are turbocharged, but very few use more than one turbocharger. If your buying Ford it's a 99% chance what ever you buy will have twin turbos.
I think you mean twin scroll turbos. Which are better than single scroll turbos as far as having more low-end torque and a flatter torque curve that makes them feel more like a larger displacement non-turbo engine (less delay for spooling up the turbo). Both engines in the full size Bronco are Ecoboost engines. That's the reason I'm likely buying a Colorado ZR2. Makes the same torque as the Ranger Raptor with a 2.7L 4 cylinder turbo (430 lb-ft). This engine has been in full size trucks for a few years, so a proven engine. Both engines in the full size Bronco are Ecoboost engines. I've been using this since June. No complaints. By the time I am ready to go, its connected.I have a client that manages a Ford dealership. He said that one of the biggest items of customer interest is screen size. 8" doesn't cut anymore with the average consumer.
I don't care about the screen size, but I would like the wireless carplay that will come with Sync 4.
The Colorado ZR2 has a 310 Horsepower Turbo 4 Engine in it? And the Ranger Raptor is a TT 3.0 Eco Boost that makes 405 Horsepower. That's the reason I'm likely buying a Colorado ZR2. I'm aware of that, but horsepower only matters in racing. Torque matters on trails and Chevy gets the same as the Ranger Raptor with s smaller, less complex motor. I'm weak on Ford v-6 twin turbo engines. The Colorado ZR2 has a 310 Horsepower Turbo 4 Engine in it? And the Ranger Raptor is a TT 3.0 Eco Boost that makes 405 Horsepower.
Man, Ford has been doing just fine with the twin turbos in their F-150s since 2010. Both 3.5L and 2.7L are workhorse engines and especially with the 2.7L, quite reliable. Any bad press related to F-150 reliability of recent focuses on the hybrid platforms first couple of years (which were rough). The non-hybrid Ecoboosts are rock solid. So solid that literally everyone is duplicating it. Toyota ditched NA V-8s, now Ram has ditched NA V-8s. GM still hasn't but they promoting the hell out of their own TT I-4 half-ton. Both Toyota and Ram's launches have totally hit the skids. The 3.0L Hurricane has tons of issues of mis-firing cylinders. Toyota has basically had to recall their entire fleet of 3.5L TT V-6s for loss of power issues.Having given my BS their due, I'm still weak on the reiliability of the twin turbo Fords.
I am curious how often you adjust the temperature in your BS? I have 3 Fords (Mustang Escape and F150) with the controls in the screen and over the last year I do not think I have moved the temperature more then three times. I like 76 Deg across all of my Fords and they seem to be consistent. The Heated and Ventilated seats are easer to control on the screen because they are much higher in the line of sight for me. I do like to have a volume control even though 98% of the time I use the steering wheel controls but do use the Power Button in the knob. I do not like the Locking Diffs on the touch screen that the Ranger Raptor has I like the button the Bronco has.I think the screens are terrible for adjusting temp controls and radio. Dials and buttons (for me) take much less of my attention away from driving. Ideally, i guess reliable voice controls would be the most effective, however i'm not a big fan of being without a physical method of controlling some of the simple functions in the vehicle.
