After they put that drain tube on my BS, they are replacing the fuel injectors via a new fsa. Still waiting for parts.Really Ford. Fix the bad injectors. The band aid is the best you can do?
Ford says in documents filed with U.S. safety regulators that fuel injectors can crack, and gasoline or vapor can accumulate near ignition sources, possibly touching off fires.
Dealers will install a tube to let gasoline flow away from hot surfaces to the ground below the vehicle. They'll also update engine control software to detect a pressure drop in the fuel injection system. If that happens, the software will disable the high-pressure fuel pump, reduce engine power and cut temperatures in the engine compartment, according to documents posted Wednesday on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
According to 22N18, that would imply one or more of the 1.5L fuel injectors are leaking fuel (if the dealership is following the wording in 22N18). It’s a one time replacement of all 3 injectors. After they put that drain tube on my BS, they are replacing the fuel injectors via a new fsa. Still waiting for parts.

So if an injector fails again, the repair isn't covered.According to 22N18, that would imply one of more of the 1.5L fuel injectors are leaking fuel (if the dealership is following the wording in 22N18). It’s a one time replacement of all 3 injectors.

Not good.According to 22N18, you are correct
I agree but it happens due to a faulty part. Has Ford updated the part like they did with the water pump?Well I don’t have the statistics but it’s reported to be rare for a fuel injector to crack and it would *seem* like replacing all 3 injectors then having one of those replaced injectors crack and leak fuel would be even more rare? Again I have no data on this.
So there's a chance the part is better. This is all covered on other posts … no one except Ford can answer your question. It’s a different part #, that’s all that is commonly known
What?! Why not? That just means that the replacements are still below quality/expectation.According to 22N18, you are correct
Let me make a wish to fairy godmother to have them select a non-faulty replacement part that way my chances get betterSo there's a chance the part is better.![]()
