So Ford still won’t swap out the cheap metal brakes for better quality ceramic brakes. I’ll tell my dad to do it to his Escape since it does it for him too, but if it doesn’t work, I’ll just pass since I’m looking at possibly offloading this thing for a Mazda.

Extremely disappointed in Ford and the quality of their products. For the price you pay, it should be built better. Never will I buy another one, that’s for sure.
This is an issue yes, my husband offered to get me something else. Just don’t get me wrong, I love my Bronco Sport!

I liked it too, but I’m just really frustrated with it all. Idk, hopefully I’m able to trade it in and my next car won’t have a lot of issues like this one does.

I posted about this in https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/“finally”…-a-correction-for-rear-brake-moan-noise.10230/#post-177671

I am taking the BS BL to the dealer in February (first available date). They reminded me that a TSB is not a recall. It would be a warrantee issue (if available); otherwise, I will have to pay. Glad I got extended warranty.
That’s ridiculous. Why do we have to pay for Ford’s screw up? Again, it’s not our fault that Ford cheaped out on parts and can’t seem to fix their crap.

I’ve owned a Mazda before and it was great. Traded it in on a Fusion with AWD because I needed AWD and that was great too which is why I went with Ford again and now got burned with this one.

Also the pads is what I heard are the problem on Reddit. They said once they swapped out the cheap metal ones for better quality ceramics, the noise was completely gone. I refuse to buy brakes for a new car when they’re not ready to be replaced. I feel that should fall under Ford Motor Company because they decided to use cheap parts for an almost $40,000 car. If they were severely worn, then it would be my responsibility, but I’ve had the brakes checked and they’re great since it’s only a year old and only 22,000 miles. I’ve had this problem since I’ve gotten it. It’s annoying and it’s embarrassing.
I agree with this. My Big Bend Sport has done this since I got it also. It’s super embarrassing. I’ve contacted the dealership that I bought it at a few times now regarding this, but they’re not interested in fixing it. I didn’t get an extended warranty either unfortunately. And in my most recent brake inspection they said that everything looked good. But clearly something isn’t right if the rear brakes are making such a loud, terrible sound. I’ve debated getting rid of it because of this.

My rear brakes do this too. I’ve contacted the dealership that I bought my Bronco from a few times, and they just brush it off. It’s super embarrassing when people turn to look, and you’re driving what is essentially a new vehicle.

I’ve been tempted to trade my Sport in for this reason. In the most recent brake inspection I had done they found no issues. But clearly something is wrong, and I don’t think that I should have to pay for the repair/replacement when these vehicles are doing this from the start.

I would love to hear from Ford on this, it is so frustrating and my dealer says he has 6 other broncos with same issue, I said I have been dealing with you on this for 1 1/2 years, not the experience I wanted

it is so frustrating! I’ve had mine for about a year and a half also. They had better do something soon before everyone starts trading them in, if they aren’t already. I’m kind of waiting to see if they issue a recall. But I won’t deal with this forever. Mine sounds the same!

I already went and test drove some cars today, non Ford ones. I’m completely done with this. I’ve had mine since 9/30 and it’s beyond ridiculous. My dad had the TSB fix already that mine is now gonna get and his brakes still moan like a dying whale.

I feel bad for people who are dealing with this and are getting refused service for them or are being charged to fix it. This is a Ford Motor Company screw up and it should be Ford Motor Company’s responsibility to fix it the right way instead of throwing everything but the kitchen sink at it that doesn’t do anything except waste my time.

Yes but which of the 3 TSB fixes for rear brake noise did your dad get?

Try the latest TSB 23-2308 (Supersedes TSB 23-2041) and maybe it will solve the issue.

Obsolete: TSB 23-2041, Supersedes 22-2326
Obsolete: TSB 22-2326

Our service guy looked his Escape up and said his already had the current TSB and that my Bronco Sport didn’t. I’m currently waiting on them to get the parts in to do mine. Idk when, hopefully it’s not on back order like my interior door panel that I’m also waiting on but ??‍♂.

I bought my 2022 Big Bend new Jan 31, 22. The backup noise didn't start right away. In fact, it wasn't until about 10 months ago that it started. I guess I'm just not as sensitive to the situation as others, and I mean no disrespect to those of you that it does. Yes, it can be embarrassing I suppose if there are other people around, but the noise does not affect braking in the least. I have had to make several hard braking evasive maneuvers and the brakes have worked flawlessly. Now that there is a TSB addressing this issue, I will see if my dealer has the parts or at least knows of it. If so, I'll have them do the work on my next service.

Mine do it occasionally, not all the time.

And my reaction? Who cares. I'm amazed how mad people get about a small thing like this.

Mine moan when it's wet or cold but I don't care. I'll just put some better pads on when these wear out.
