I've recently been using Sport mode, and find it enjoyable. However, every time I start my Bronco Sport, I am met with a prompt that asks me to restore Sport mode. Is there no way to make the drive mode of my choosing a "permanent" settings? I have not found a way.

You can probably set a default in FORSCAN.

Do the "Stage 1" remap and the normal it will be the sport.
he means a flash tune. requires about $500 worth of electronic hardware. then whatever your tuner of choice charges for a base map and some revisions to get it dialed in. monster tuned is reputable, but not sure if they have anything yet for the sport. he's been working on the maverick 2.0L which should transfer over to the badlands. not sure i would be comfortable squeezing anything more out of the 1.5L

Stage 1 remap doesn't required a hardware installation. There is tons of companies doing that.
Remap stage 1
Normal mode = It will be like Sport mode
Eco mode = Normal mode
Sport mode = Same as normal

Yeah a remap is really the only way, it doesn't stick around after shut down due to new car regulations. Same goes for auto start-stop systems.

Auto start-stop isn't a required function, and can be permanently disabled with FORScan, no remap required.

maybe you should clarify what you mean. “Stage 1 remap” is usually regurgitated by someone who doesn’t really know what they’re talking about, when referring to a performance flash tune.

It must be liberating to operate with such a pure tabula rasa. You're able to absorb and reflect the immediate consensus without the friction of pre-existing intellectual frameworks, if that said, I hope the context below brings information

Imagine your car's engine is like a really good athlete. From the factory, the coach (the car company) tells the athlete to only use about 80% of their real strength. They do this to be safe, meet all the boring regulations, and make sure the athlete has a long, easy career.

A Stage 1 Remap is like hiring a new, expert coach who knows the athlete is capable of more.

This coach doesn't give the athlete steroids or new equipment. Instead, they just change the game plan on a laptop. They tell the engine's computer: "Hey, it's okay to use 95% of your power now. Let's be a little less conservative and have more fun."

So, in short: It's a software update for your car that unlocks the extra power it already had hidden away.

The result:

  • When you press the gas pedal, the car feels more awake and faster.
  • It's quicker and more powerful, without changing a single physical part in the engine.

I don't know if using athlete is the best analogy, if necessary I can make one with McDonald's combos

I don't know, was such a snarky comment necessary? For most folks on this forum, "Stage 1" means nothing. What's "Stage 2"? "Stage 3"? That usually varies between who's doing the tuning.
Cheers!

It was necessary because the person was not polite, but for you I can explain normally:

Stage 2 is the first level of tuning that combines a software remap with mandatory hardware upgrades.
Parts that need to be changed: Intake, Downpipe, Intercooler

Stage 3 represents a major commitment to performance and involves replacing fundamental powertrain components.
Stage2 parts + Turbocharger, Fuel System (fuel injectors, fuel pump...) , Engine Internals (pistons, rods, bearings...)

No S. your reply reads like AI wrote it, and still offers no useful information. It doesn't sound like you have any experience in what you are trying to talk about.

my point is you are not being helpful to anyone stating what you are in generic terms that are meaningless. what "stage 1" option are you referring to specifically? taking it to ford? aftermarket flash tune? (which will require some electronic hardware device to flash to the cars ecu like i had first stated.) Again, "stage 1" is a subjective term. COBB has stage 1, 2, 3 off the shelf tunes. which are super generic and can be dangerous to use long term in some cases. Actual tuners, (not COBB) like Panda Motorworks, JST, Stratified, Monster tuned, just to name a few, don't have "stages". They send you a base map which you then perform data log runs in your vehicle to send back to the tuner, and depending on your modifications and how your car is running, even things like elevation, humidity etc. your tuner will revise the map for you for the best and hopefully safest performance.

so still curious what EXAXTLY you are meaning. By what process or program you specifically are saying
