Short and sweet; As you might have noticed, the factory wireless charging pad sucks. Even if you’ve had the reprogramming TSB done and it’s sitting perfectly on the pad, it’s only 5W. That’s barely enough to maintain the current charge for today’s phone. Also, it doesn’t hold your phone in place.

Enter MagSafe! I measured, designed and printed a drop in replacement for the OEM charging module that holds a 25W MagSafe charger. It bolts into the stock location. The wire runs out to a 30W 12v USB C PD adapter wired up down by the fuse it taps into for switched power. I also cut out the center of the stock cubby mat to make sure the magnets have the strongest connection.

Yes, you could just stick a MagSafe pad in the cubby and plug it in, but I cannot stand loose wires, so I did it the harder way. Plus this way the magnets lock the phone in place; it’s not going anywhere!

Man, if you would print me one of those, I’d gladly buy it from you, or upload the STL file , that would be super. Looks great, great clean work.

Very nice, indeed. To your point, the original unit does not get the job done. I simply do not rely on it for my cell charging.

Looks amazing. I’ve been thinking of doing something very similar for the wife’s that didn’t come with the charging pad. Great job!

Since it doesn't reuse the wiring harness you definitely could! Is there still a cutout there where the charging pad WOULD be?
