Yankum has a pretty decent quick reference for recovery rope sizes, realistically you should aim for recovering yourself or who you are traveling with as a priority instead of planning to recover full sized trucks because if you know what you are doing, the car will fail before the ropes do.

But if bigger is better, go for the 2-1/2” rope and figure out how to connect it later

And don't forget soft shackles
2.5”? You could probably tow the Missouri with that. ?

If you're going to tie a knot in a recovery rope, make sure it is a bowline. Any other knot, and you'll probably end up cutting the rope to get it loose. A big part of good knots is the ability to untie them. A bowline unties easily even after heavy towing.

I wouldn’t tie any knots. Bowline or not, you’re gonna have a hell of a time untying a rope that stretchy after those kind of loads.

You’d also be losing probably 20-35% strength. You lose about 40% with a bowline, but that is compared to a perfect anchor like several wraps on a big bollard. Splices should retain full strength, but without a thimble the connector usually isn’t large enough.

You’d keep more strength with a figure 8 on a bight/follow through. Never getting that sucker untied though.

I wouldn’t tie any knots.
I've NEVER personally recovered a vehicle with a kinetic rope.....but tying a knot in one seems COMPLETELY counter-intuitive.?‍♂

Yeah, if I had a longer rope with damage near an end, I’d do a figure eight until I could re-splice or replace. Depending on condition of the rest of the rope. Can’t really think of any other scenario.

Wow! That one looks even bigger for it’s nominal diameter than the Bubba or Yankum ropes. Maybe a puffy hollow braid?
My 5/8” x20’ Bubba rope fits along side the full size spare. It feels at least as fat as a 7/8” of most normal ropes like yacht braid.

What size K02 is that in your spare wheel well
