I had gone back and forth with 2 doors. My first was a 1989 Nissan Pulsar NX, then a Ford Escort ZX2. After that I kind of fell into some sedans that I didn't have a choice of. After I was looking for an Accord coupe but they were getting harder and harder to find in the trim I wanted. Now I have the BS.

On my list of future vehicles... new Prelude and 2 dr Bronco are near the top along with the new Passport. I'd take a 2 dr Passport but they don't make them.o
I forgot about the Zx2. I had that before the 2006 Escape! I gave that to my daughter when she moved to Arizona after college.

It was a fun little car and the first real car I purchased on new (The Pulsar NX was almost 10 years old and cost $2k).

I wish I took more pictures of my cars back then. I didn't really start until my 2nd Accord.

I always thought those Escort ZX2's were nice looking cars.
It wasn’t a bad looking car at the time. Somewhat weird interior. Very Taurus looking inside and somewhat outside. I only had it 6 years but put a lot of miles on it. It went cross country several times. I gave it to my daughter after she graduated college and moved out to Arizona. She only kept it 6 more years as it left her stranded a couple of times. It wasn’t nearly as robust as the 93 Escort that it replaced. It was also built in Hermosillo like the Maverick and Sport. The 93 Escort was a money car. Went over 200k with no major issues other than it was totaled at 70k after getting rear ended but salvaged and driven for many years until the rear subframe gave up the ghost to rust from being damaged and fixed.

Here’s a picture from 120 years ago. My great grandmother behind the wheel of my great great grandfather’s 1903 Pope Toledo (Later to become Willy’s/Jeep). This was taken on the beach in LA. This car actually won a hill climbing race for its class in Minneapolis in 1903.

Here’s the advertisement from the day showing my great great grandfathers car in Minneapolis.
