A CD player I can drop in the center console storage box and plug Into the USB.
Using the B&O speaker system obviously. Anyone know what kind I should get ?
I have a Crap load of CD's and want to play them.

I'm in the same boat. Have you tried a computer external dvd drive that plugs into the usb port. Don't have my BS yet but soon I hope.

Rip them into high quality MP3s and stick them on USB stick instead.

Sounds great ! But will it show as a play list, menu, what eva on the infotainment screen ??
I still think a cd player would be, should be simpler as I'm not sure if I'd ever find or spend the time putting what I have on a thumb drive..

They, Ford should have offered an 'old guy' package...
AM/FM/CD system in dash.
I read that Ford stopped putting CD's In anything back in 2017....
Forget where.

I think the 2019 Flex was the last Ford vehicle with a CD player. That is one of the reasons my wife wanted the Flex. She also loved the boxy look (either love it or hate it) and the third row seating (since w only have on 12 year old in the house now). It was also the best driving car Ford made (my opinion. except maybe the Mustang). I got her an XM subscription and she has never played a CD in the car since we got it in October of 2019.

2 things to consider:
- Are the USB ports in the console storage box sufficient to power a cd player? There is no 12v port in the console storage box in my OB
- the USB ports in the console storage box are marked as charging only and may not pass a signal directly to the audio system

Yes, assuming the files are tagged properly. I have tagged all of my media how I like it, so I shut off the Gracenote management option. Note that while driving much of the browse capability is blocked except for browsing via voice. And even there, it's still limited in pages you can scroll through / you can't go up the tree, only down.

I would love a CD player in my vehicle too. I have so many over the years since they came out in the early 1980's. Yes, I can rip but I have so many I just want to pop a disc in and play it. I remember when only high end vehicles offered CD players. LOL What amazes me is that CD technology is about 40 years old and they are still being manufactured yet most carmakers don't offer a CD player. AM radio is around 100 years old and there still are AM radios in vehicles. Go figure.

AM radio must remain because of the Emergency Broadcast System. The FM system digital I think.

Telsa and BMW pulled AM terrestrial broadcast support on their electric vehicles several years ago and provide digital streaming AM over 4G. The electric motors create an incredible amount of noise in the AM frequency band. As the auto industry moves to electrification, I think AM terrestrial broadcast will disappear even with emergency broadcast. AM and FM stations must support emergency broadcast as a condition of their license in the public interest. The auto manufacturers don't have to provide AM radios. AM was almost dead a couple of decades ago until talk radio (Rush) revived it.

HD radio on both FM and AM sounds pretty great in my VW -- I experienced the same in the BS., depending of course on the quality of whatever is being broadcast. I don't want to give up the long range of the AM SD broadcast as I drive further and further away to whatever is so important that I'm listening to. I'm a little surprised whatever shielding or other mitigation measures can't take care of EM noise issues in an electric vehicle.
