What you can do, or do easily, depends totally on how well they're tagged. Have you added all the artist / album / song / genre names to the devices? It'll organize better that way vs navigating using the "Explore" feature to view the file system. You can make your own playlists as well, then...
If you want less steps to get to the weather map you can use voice to get to the radar. It’ll take various phrases based on software version but “weather map” or "show the radar" are some that'll do the trick. The alerts are easy access from the ! icon in the status bar.
Unfortunately, there aren't any generic release notes put out. Unless there's an SSM for some specific issue, there usually isn't a "link" between a release any fix. I'll usually post up something on forums when others ask what changed on my feature. For example, if you're on 3.4.20136 before...
Yes, assuming the files are tagged properly. I have tagged all of my media how I like it, so I shut off the Gracenote management option. Note that while driving much of the browse capability is blocked except for browsing via voice. And even there, it's still limited in pages you can scroll...
This is your problem. The files aren't on the drive as expected. You need the autoinstall.lst and DONTINDX.MSA files, along with SyncMyRide folder at the main/root level. It's indexing because when you plug it in, it's not seeing that .MSA at the main level. That's also why it isn't kicking off...
Other question. This sounds to me like you're plugging in the USB, then going to the OTA update screen and checking for an update. If so, that isn't needed. If you've got everything on the drive properly, you'll get a drop down saying it's updating at the top of the screen almost immediately...
NON-NAV is larger because it’s a global part. The voice package contains a large number of languages, unlike the region specific NA NAV that only has 3.
Yes, 1.8GB sounds right for the Nav update. Non-Nav is something like 2.8ish GB, forget off hand but quite large from the ~1GB larger voice package.
Haven't been in a BS lately to say if the cluster info is "normal". I think my Escape does the same though, haven't paid much attention to it. The...
FYI, if you're updating from 3.4.20136, check that your download has all of the expected packages, usually 6. Some USB downloads seem to be missing the voice package (14G391-CM). If you've already installed it (3.4.20282), you can verify you've got that package with a simple press of the VR...
