All pre 2025 Sports utilize Sync 3. You do have to connect by cord. However, that being said, I have been using the Navigation that came info system, and it has been, on the whole, very good.
I’m using a wireless CarPlay adaptor with my ‘23 Big Bend, and my girlfriends ‘17 Malibu, and they work perfectly, with all apps. The adaptors are cheap now, too.

I understand buying a vehicle can be an emotional experience and the sales people do most everything possible to get you into said vehicle and before you know it you are driving off the lot and now you think you've made a mistake.

Because most new and newer vehicles have displays with touch controls that now control various features that separate knobs, buttons or switches used to operate and now those controls are all integrated into some type of display.
Did the sales person not go over the operation of the center display with you or maybe they did and now don't recall what did what.
Initially you only really need to access the HVAC controls and the audio system to use the radio if interested. If you get those two operations under control your Sport will be pretty much like any other vehicle and then as you get more comfortable you can expand to the other operations and apps that can be controlled within the display.
If you are still unsure and do not have someone to help you out with what the display can do I suggest going back to the dealer and have them show you how the display operates and at the very least get the two functions mentioned above working for you.

It takes a while to get used to new things. But if it brings frustration, get rid of it.

I’m using wireless adapter for CarPlay in my 2023 BB too. Works great.

Yeah, that would probably help a lot. I've never used Siri for anything, have her turned off. I'm being dragged reluctantly into C21.
It's built in to the infotainment system, not related to Siri or Alexa functionality.

Here's a Ford video demonstrating its use:

I'm conflicted. It's cute as a bug and I like the way it drives, which is why I bought it. I just wish that all radio and AC controls were on dedicated knobs, and the steering wheel controls were not so small and so many of them. I can't safely change temperature while driving and that pisses me off! I actually really like the adaptive cruise control and lane centering, so I am open to new things. I will probably try to get used to it as there is little out there that is what I want, which if probably a return to the vehicles of eight years ago or so. Thanks to all for the replies.
I was convinced when I bought the car that I would almost never use the adaptive cruise. Now I think it is probably the best feature available on the car. It doesn't let you quit driving, you have to stay checked in and ready to stop the car if needed. But it was a hurdle to let myself give the machine that much control.

Can't say much about the button issue, because that is a new problem for '25 cars. I'd also hate it. I do know that if you get used to pushing the "voice" button on the steering wheel, if you can memorize 6-12 commands, you can do a lot of the things you're hoping the car will do with that one button. You can tell it "set climate to 65 degrees" or even use more colloquial speech like "I'm hot" or "I'm cold" and the Sync 4 can work with that.

The technology is continuing to frustrate me (old, not tech savvy, hate computers and smart phones), I really dislike that damn screen,
Whenever I fly an aircraft I've never flown before I take an hour or two to sit in the seat and become completely familiar with all the controls. I don't just mean find them all, I mean I run through the checklists--especially the emergency procedures checklists--several times as I touch each control. There's no reason you can't do the same thing with your car. Put the battery on a charger, then power everything up and start practicing. Make a list of the common tasks that require you to interact with the screen, then practice doing them until you are comfortable.

I shut the auto start/stop feature off as soon as I start it. i have to take it into ford, every time I put it in reverse it switches the radio from FM to AM. I am not a fan of electronics controlling everything.

I have a 2024 Bronco Sport Big Bend. One big thing I like about the ‘24 versus the ‘25 is you have more old-school physical switchgear particularly for the climate control system. This is a significant thing I like about the 2024 Bronco Sport compared to a lot of other vehicles on the market.

As such I rarely touch the info screen. I don’t use it with my phone. I use it for music from my iPod—thats it, nothing else. Oh, and I glance at the backup camera which is mostly passive use anyway.

The climate system is essentially on/off and setting temperature and leave it on auto. No need to fuss with it further.

Modern info-screens are NOT there for your convenience. If anyone tells you that it‘s a lie. It’s there because it’s CHEAPER for manufacturers to pile lots of functions into it rather than actually design and build dashboards and physical switchgear—they can just plaster an iPad onto a shelf and call it a day. Configurable instrument clusters ARE NOT there for your convenience—they’re nothing but gimmicks. Drive modes are also largely gimmicks. No one needs this stuff. It’s added complexity for the smartphone generation to play with.

It’s no accident customers’ #1 complaint with new cars is the unnecessary complexity of info-screens. No one asked for this crap as cars were largely figured out. But some “genius” had the idea this would be ”progress” and “better” than what we had before. Wrong, it’s not, even though some features can be useful.

Interesting side note: The motorcycle industry has also been adding mostly pointless features to digital instrumentation on bikes. And yet there is a sizeable number of buyers who prefer the bikes without all the extras because those extras bring nothing but added cost and complexity to the riding experience.

We have a '23 also. Would you have a link or model of the wireless adaptor you are using?

I had to bring a Mooney Bravo back from Sacramento int'l that had a Garmin G1000 panel. I rode in the back seat on the way over to SAC. I had a hell of a time just trying to get the transponder code in. Nice airplane though.
When Cirrus took the last steam gauges out, I had cold sweats. Hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years now.

Here is the one I’ve been using. I still plug the phone in on longer trips as it uses the battery pretty heavy.
