I many never get used to this thing. What to do and when to do it?

Unfortunately, the problem is made worse if you use Apple CarPlay as there is no banner to see the numeric values of say the temperature setting. Since the numeric numbered knobs were decontented from the 22’s that’s my biggest gripe. I know I can replace the hvac control but…….

The only actual critical numeric value displayed is speed. Even the tach is like “2,000-ish RPM”. Voltage, amperage, temperatures, pressures, etc. are sadly absent.

Personally, speed is the last one I need to see in a digital form. I’m used to seeing it in a range. Oil temp, water temp, voltage, boost, oil pressure are much more useful to me to be in numerical form.

I’d be happy even if the car temp setting was shown in an approximate position like in the old days thin blue or heavy blue.

I recently picked up a 2025 Maverick with the same Sync 4 that is in the 25+ Sports. Compared to the Sync 3 in the 2023 Sport, it takes some getting used to. I do prefer being able to control the HVAC from a dial. However, after 1k miles, you do get used to the touchscreen. Everything else about the new screens are better. Wireless Carplay is better. Switching between the audio and CarPlay is much easier than with Sync 3. The instrument cluster screen is better.

Did you get rid of the 2023 BS BB and get the 2025 Maverick? If so i did the same thing 2025 XLT AWD Maverick with the 2.0 EB and had the 2023 BS BB before it. And i do agree I also got used to the Touchscreen on My 2025 Maverick.

My frustration continues. I get onscreen message that a software update is needed, at a time when I need to use the vehicle so I defer to doing it later. Later, trying to figure that out I go to the manual. It says to go "settings" on touchscreen and select "software update", yet no such option appears on my setting screen, or anywhere else that I can find. Trying to use either the online manual or onscreen manual is ridiculous. So, what happens if I never update the software?

Under the settings, I have mine set, so it updates overnight. Or it updates when I'm not driving.

The technology is continuing to frustrate me (old, not tech savvy, hate computers and smart phones), I really dislike that damn screen, and I am regretting this purchase. I also find it most difficult to smoothly take off from a start, in any setting, and the brakes are difficult to make a smooth stop. My '25 Heritage is showroom condition with 1000 miles. Should I try to trade it now, or just live with it for a year or two before moving on? I'll take a hit either way but don't want to be totally stupid about it. Any advice?
