@johnardsg see the blow up pic of your doors, in the ovals are what i earlier referred to as “metal strips” but also see the arrow — at that spot is paint worn off this door?

I see similar “metal strips” on my door pic but just looked abit more pronounced in your pic probably due to lighting and paint color differences.

I have a 24 BS Badlands. The rubber piece is not on the trim. It looks like Ford did not redesign the trim piece. They just removed the rubber strip that you are showing in the picture.
Thank you for responding, I greatly appreciate it.

Wow, is that weather strip not contributing to the "double seal" of the doors and the vehicles' advertised water fording capabilities!?

This might have been installed to keep the inside of the door cleaner and reduce some road noise.

Thank you to everyone who replied! Hopefully, those of you who are experiencing paint wear issues are able to get it resolved with Ford quickly.

I just checked the driver door for weather stripping. There is still weather stripping around the bottom of the door where the plastic door panel ends and weather stripping along the perimeter of the door opening on the body of the BS so those two strips look they would touch together when the door is closed. Similar to my other Fords. it seems the weather stripping running at the bottom of the lower trim was causing an issue with the paint so Ford removed it. I am guessing Ford is not going to change the design of the trim piece unless they find water getting into the cabin which I think is probably unlikely. I really looks like the rubber strip was really a poor design if it is causing paint to be worn off from the door rubbing with the weather strip. It would not be the first time that the someone came up with a design idea that turned out to be a bad idea in the real world.

I never noticed this on my Big Bend. I did notice our door doesn't have any additional weatherstripping at the bottom while a CR-V I rode in the other day did. This make some wonder if that is contributing to bugs and dirt I find inside my BS.

My 23 Big Bend has it.
Thanks for replying, it appears that this issue is apparent on multiple trims. I assumed the trim was different on the other models.
