FYI in case anyone needs this part number:

Bronco Sport 2.0L Water Pump
K2GZ-8501-A
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/engine/engine-cooling/engine-water-pump-p-pw609#/partMatched?pdp=y

Fits these vehicles
Ford Edge 2019 - 2024
Ford Escape 2020 - 2024
Lincoln Corsair 2020 - 2024
Ford Bronco Sport 2021 - 2024
Ford Maverick 2022 - 2024

Did not see any revised part numbers.

There’s no known TSB for water pump failures on the 2.0L Bronco Sport and just a few reported water pump failures for the 2.0L Bronco Sport.

No, was on a “22 Badlands but not mine. First water pump replacement I’ve heard about. Just under 17k miles.

Yikes. I continue to hope that many of these issues posted here are not the norm.

One of the reasons I initially started to read posts here was to see what real people were dealing with owning a Bronco Sport.

There are over a 1/4 of a million BSs out there so hopefully the majority of us don't have issues like this "that" Early.

We are still doing OK and hopefully continue to do so.?

Correct … 2.0L (Badlands, First Edition and some Heritage) use the water pump part # shown in Post #1, as far as I know that is the latest part # but I didn’t verify that. That water pump part # is also listed for some 2.3L engines as well.

All 1.5L Bronco Sports use a different part # and there are lots of posts on 1.5L water pumps. I won’t repeat the 1.5L part # because the focus of this post is 2.0L engines.

FYI… Here is the Tech’s repair info for replacing the water pump on a 2022 Badlands (2.0L engine) with under 17k miles (not my vehicle).

I just had the water pump replaced on my 2022 BS Big Bend. There is no TSB. However, my dealer followed the prescribed steps on the ssm. I have 24, 500 miles on her. They have replaced a number of the 8501-A pumps. The 8501-B pump is an upgraded version.

The updated B pump fails too. Ask if your dealer flushed the system before the change.

FYI the subject of this post is “Part # for Bronco Sport 2.0L Water Pump” … there are many other posts for the 1.5L engine water pump. ?

Yep, according to the service advisor, they followed the directions on ssm-52357.

Hhhmmm. At the dealer right now, came in for the recall (24S24, body control module). First thing the Service Advisor says, "we're gonna check your water pump first." Even said that I might ve heard about it online.

SA said it'll all be under warranty if it is leaking, also mentioned no cost loaner if I need one. I'll update when I hear from SA.

For those wondering, 23 Badlands, 1 year and 2 days in my possession, 14K miles, no prior coolant/pump issues.

EDIT: well, my water pump is OK. They're gonna take care of the recall now.

Yep, OK. SA did mention that the dealer isn't taking any chances, cause they don't want to be on the hook if the worst happens and the head gasket goes.
