Hello, I have a 21 bronco sport and pretty much since I've had it I've had problems with my hvac. My techs (i work at a ford dealer) can't seem to find out what's wrong with it.
When it gets above about 75 degrees outside my whole hvac system shuts off no power nothing (will post video). They pulled the whole dash apart to see what was happening it seemed to work for like 6 months and then started again.
I really don't wanna get rid of my vehicle but also gettinf really frustrated.

Unfortunately mine isn't ac related my ac works just fine its the whole control panel that shuts off when its hot out side but as soon as it turns back on everything works
What has the dealership replaced so far?

Did the dealership tell you which module is the HVAC control unit?

We replaced the hvac control module. That is all and even then it was more of a guess. I've been having the issue since the very beginning of having the car. Unfortunately the first dealership I worked at didnt just replace things under warranty and now I am out and am paying for this out of pocket so I dont want to be just throwing parts at it

Replacing the part means the panel is probably OK and connecting the new panel reseats the connectors assuming the pins were all OK. I'd check the fusebox for a loose fuse that works intermittently.

How do you go about checking one that works intermediary and only when its hot outside?

Fuses are a cheap part. Get some spares and open the box. See what numbers are associated with the HVAC, BCM and instrumentation. Pull and reseat them. look for broken or corroded pins and make sure they all go in with some force or the holders might be split open in the fusebox.

Conversely, if you're just being incredulous about the process, if you don't want to pay someone for diagnosis, then you have to perform the easy steps, no? What did the tech say fixed it last time? Dumb luck? If they can't solve it "by the book" then it would be something unconventional to solve.

If 75 degrees is really an exact magic trigger, then what about the ambient temp sensor? Could it magically short and disable the system at precisely 75 degrees? It's a $6.74 part and plugs in.

That was my thought was the ambient temp sensor but my techs seem to believe that wouldn't make the controls turn off, but considering there's to temp displayed while its doing it I wondered if that could be a possibility.

Also the ambient temp sensor is behind the dash it looks like so would be a whole pull apart from what I can tell. They never fixed it to begin with. Never wanted to throw part at it with warranty for some reason.

Please check the paperwork from the dealership and see what HVAC control module part # was replaced

you have a 2021 which could have the digital temperature on the dial(s)

Should have been one of these that’s applicable to your vehicle

M1PZ-19980-A w/Dual Zone Temp Ctrl.; w/o Heated Steering Wheel. Dual zone AC

M1PZ-19980-B w/Dual Zone Temp Ctrl.; w/Heated Steering Wheel. Dual zone AC

M1PZ-19980-C w/o heated seat. Bronco Sport; w/o Dual Zone Temp Ctrl.

M1PZ-19980-D w/heated seats. Bronco Sport; w/o Dual Zone Temp Ctrl
