I opened my Sprite bottle only to have the contents spray out and get into the auto-brake button. Now it's hard to push, but it does work. Is there an easy way to take it out/apart to clean it? Thanks!
(I thought I saw it mentioned here and did a search with no luck. Sorry if this is duplicated)

Before taking everything apart I would try a quality, plastics-safe contact cleaner like this.

Spray a bit on an inconspicuous area of plastic and wait for it to evaporate. It should not stain or leave a residue on the plastic. If it doesn't, then work the plastic spray straw into the gap between the button and the console and give a few squirts. It should clean the gunk out of the switch without affecting the electrical contacts. Be sure you have the car turned off when you do it.

I use silicone spray on sticky switches. It lubricates and would probably wash away some of the Sprite.

WD-40 is good for cleaning out sticky goo in switches.

The manufacturer makes a specific version of the product for contact cleaning. I don’t know what the specific differences are between that and the lubricant, but i would not use the lubricant for contact cleaning.

WD-40 has tons of uses. I have used it successfully in many switch and sensor cleaning with no ill effects.

But I can understand using a specific sensor cleaner if you happen to have it around the garage already.

OP mentioned spray from a soda can, so I figured it's just around the switch itself.
