Hood deflector whistle

I installed a hood deflector and now I have a whistle sound over 25 mph. I live near a gravel pit. So the deflector is necessary. Are there deflectors that don’t cause a whistle?

first ive heard anyone complain about a whistle. we have no issues with the aero 2 deflector

Which one did you get? I bought the one from the Ford accessory catalog. It does not whistle.

I forget the brand name. I thought it was an “official” accessory but it sounds like others are not having the issue so I guess I will try the one offered on the ford site.

Sounds like (no pun intended) that it may not be completely anchored to your hood completely.
Possibly a small gap in the double stick tape.

Bought mine from the dealer, had them do the install. Figured that way if any problems THEY had to fix them. The thing that took the longest, was warming the hood and the deflector, they said that was important for good seal and adhesion.

@KrisO Never seen that bug guard or heard of the brand

I'm not a fan of those types of bug guards such as that of the EGR brand. Had a brand like that in the early days of bug guards (70's and 80's) on various trucks I've owned. They twist and flex in higher speeds, and crack around the bolt holes underneath where they mount to the underside of the hood.

The one that Ford offers is well built and strong. No issues with it at all.
